I lie still for a moment, wondering how to proceed. The shapes and shadows and whispers continue but I ignore them. Suddenly a disembodied hand and arm reaches down from the ceiling. Egads, that's kind of scary. Do I have the nerve to grab it? It's obviously reaching for me. I think it's the only way I'm going to get out, so I reach up and take it. It grasps me strongly, but I'm afraid I will let go, so I reach my other hand up and grab the forearm. When I get a good grip, the hand pulls me up and out of my body.
It's a demon! It's a man, but he's like a devil or demon or something like that. We're on the roof, and I've gone from just grasping his arm to holding him around his body with my arms and legs. He leaps into the sky, flying with big, red, feathered wings. I look up at him--oh, it's the man from the truck, but he's not a man, I guess. He doesn't seem very scary for a demon, really. He flies with his wings and I hold on. I'm aware of his chest being naked, but not sure about the rest of him. My arms are just behind his wings, my head below his chest, and my legs around his waist, so I'm hugging him and holding on from below as he flies.
I ask him his name. He says his full name, something like "Alfred (middle initial) (last name). I hear him, but it's like I do IRL if I'm not concentrating--I forget people's names as soon as I hear them, it's a very bad habit I have. Then suddenly I can't see him anymore, he's completely invisible. I'm still holding onto him, and can still feel his wings flapping, but I can see the sky and stars, like he's not there at all. It's wonderful and freaky, being carried by an invisible thing like this, very different than flying on my own. I ask him, "Do you turn invisible so that people can't see you?" He just grunts, like that was a stupid question. (I guess it was.)
We land, and he appears again, without his wings, and dressed now, in black clothes. Where we are is similar to where his truck was parked before. He says he's really hungry, he's gotta get something to eat; all he's had that day is a cup of coffee. He seems kind of ordinary and not demon-like at all. I don't know where we are going to get something to eat. There are trees and paths but I don't see any lights or hear any noise; there doesn't seem to be anywhere to go, but he says he knows a place.
I apologize and say I didn't quite get his name, it was Alfred....what else? I get a thought; surely he didn't say "Alfred E. Neuman. I start laughing, wondering if that's what he said...it could have been, but I'm not sure, no, I don't think so, but what was it, I can't remember...I look over and he turns his head away from me, seeming to be exasperated and annoyed by stupidity.
