I have this recurring dream (so many times over the years);
I'm flying (or begin to fly) towards the city*. Usually i will see the sea or ocean beyond it and depending on my mental state at the time, i will either: -not reach the city, (lose power while flying or some obstacles occur) -reach the city where i scale some buildings, -reach the city and enter some building, -reach the city and the ocean catches my eye, i drop everything and fly towards the ocean. -I fly towards the sea/ocean but don't submerge. -I reach the sea/ocean and have a dream at the beach, -I jumped in the water and usually got lucid (even before i learned about lucidity),
The following has happened once submerged: -I usually breath, -Experience a peaceful state -Experience strong arousal -One time when i bobbed in and out of the water, i saw my room when submerged, and saw the sea when i came up again, i did it a few times with the same result each time! it was really trippy. lol
*It so happens that in Real Life, we live in the north, south of that is the city, and south of that is the bay.
What attracts me to the city in dream? -The urge for human company, wanting to feel a part of something, looking for my place in society.
What attracts me to the sea/ocean? -Something beyond the human society structure, a deeper meaning, exploring the vast subconscious, the quest for true love.
Since learning lucidity, i flew over the ocean to Japan (a personal mission).
The fact that this dream is still recurring, with such an urge to fly in that direction rather than anywhere else, leaves me feeling that there is still something to be learned from it. I'm thinking perhaps i can use lucidity to find out what that could be..
What do you think? how should i explore this?
