I know--I wonder what it means when we have dreams where we can't do simple things that we do IRL all of the time? I dunno... but I think I need to start doing reality checks when little things like that start going wrong and I get frustrated. Hmmm, dreams about things we do in everyday life. (Btw Burns, bummer about being frustrated, whether it's in your dreams or otherwise. Hopefully things will start looking up)
Hum, I've got nothing.
I don't feel very insightful this afternoon. Thanks, Edge And don't worry about being insightful.. I just appreciate you taking the time to read and reply I've been missing out big time. I left a message on your other journal, glad i found this one, was wondering whether you'd given up :( But gladfully you haven't which is awesome! Can't wait to see future entries. Hey LS Nope I haven't given up. Well, I've given up my DJ at DV for the time being, yes, but not here! Thanks for checking it out

You strike me as being very methodical, exacting and almost perfectionist with all you do. This is a great trait I think...but it can lead to unrealistic expectations (I know this because I am the same way, lol). I could be way off here, but this is what I am starting to pick up on ...and your dreams seem to echo this frustration in different ways.

^^^Insightful. But given the intense life and death nature of what she does, I'm no surprised that it carries over into her dreams a lot.
Burns I found that by journaling, a lot of my repetitive dreams seem to be exorcised from my system. Maybe by doing this you can clear out some of those emotional dreams...and move on to some other types of emotional dreams!

I could be way off here, but this is what I am starting to pick up on ...and your dreams seem to echo this frustration in different ways. I never thought of it that way before, but I think you're absolutely right. I AM very [anal]methodical about how I work and if things don't go exactly how I want, I get frustrated. Very nice insight, thanks, Avalon! Burns I found that by journaling, a lot of my repetitive dreams seem to be exorcised from my system. Maybe by doing this you can clear out some of those emotional dreams...and move on to some other types of emotional dreams! haha hopefully! I normally don't have this many frustrated work dreams so I'm not sure why I've been having so many lately. Work has been going fine and nothing has changed. Hopefully this will run its course Thanks for the insightful replies you two!

Ah more pet dreams. Your dreams show that you care a lot about your pets. I can totally understand though, how you didn't want the other lady to handle Red. I'm the same way with Zooni, I hardly let someone feed her besides me.

Oh my lord..everything going wrong in that dream. Sounded like a real anxiety one..I actually got the shivers reading about the tangled wires and i.v line..malfunctioning machines..that must have been no fun to dream about.
I agree with Xox..an unpleasant dream but it's clear you're very compassionate for the animals you deal with.

At least I'm not the only one if you're that way with Zooni too Oh my lord..everything going wrong in that dream. I had to anesthetize a cat today for a routine neuter and as I was checking all my settings on the machine, I remembered that dream and I started to feel anxious, and almost did a reality check (but didn't because I wanted to concentrate on my patient), but I everything was fine and there were no problems so I calmed down and everything went smoothly Stupid dream getting me all flustered!

Wow you seemed to have mixed work with pets in that dream! I'm amazed at how well you know the procedure even in dreams! Sounds like you could operate while sleeping

Jeez...that's seriously intense. I couldn't imagine having someone or an animal's life in my hands like that. Can't even imagine what surgeons go through when they lose a patient. That's something you never really think about...but it must be...torture. I have a whole new respect for doctors and surgeons now.

Depends, what was the procedue? If you say neutering I will not accept But it's in the name of dreaming and science! Jeez...that's seriously intense. I couldn't imagine having someone or an animal's life in my hands like that. Can't even imagine what surgeons go through when they lose a patient. That's something you never really think about...but it must be...torture. I have a whole new respect for doctors and surgeons now. It seems daunting if you don't know what you're doing, but with all the training nurses and doctors get, and all the continuing education we have to do every year, we are pretty prepared for if things go wrong. Of course, there are things that can happen that are outside the surgeon's and anesthesiologists control, but alas, that is the risk of anesthesia... Anyway, thanks for reading, Nina

4/15/08 - James in Iraq
I only remember flashes of certain parts of this dream.
I'm in some kind of huge place, like Bronners Christmas Store, and there's tons of decorations around. I am in a wedding dress and trying to put on make up but I keep screwing it up. I have this really thick gray goopy eyeshadow on and accidentally get mascara on my eyelid so I have to wipe it off and put the eyeshadow on again, but it looks so horrible that I decide to wash my face and start over.
I'm mad at my sister because she took a phone call from James who is serving in the war in Iraq and didn't tell me so I didn't get to talk to him. She kept saying there was a reason I couldn't talk to him because he was setting up a surprise for me with her, but I didn't care, I just wanted to talk to him. She gave me a tape to play that he made me. She led me over to a private room alcove with chair and TV. As we were walking to the room, she was like Angelina Jolie with a ton of kids in tow. She's a good mom. I sit down in the chair and put in the tape. Songs from my favorite band, Matchbox Twenty, start playing and a video montage from James in Iraq. I love him so much for making this tape for me!
