Wow MB, great lucid. I would say that's a lucid of the month candidate for sure.

Since I know where you live, I can see the lakes and trees, but Zebras? where the hell did they come from? Looks like you missed a chance for the October intermediate task of the month.

If I wanted to travel to the center of the earth, I think I would conceptualize a portal deep in the bottom of an ocean or lake. I would nose dive into the lake, find the portal, pass through and enter the earth's core. Just an idea.

clap Amazing dream, MB.  That's what lucids are all about!  Flying, outer space, astronauts, helicopters.  Its like you stole my 8 year old brother's dream   chuckle

I wonder what you and the woman were talking about as you melted into her and woke up.  I'm imagining a scenario where you realize she is an extension of yourself, so waking up causes you to merge back together.

We actually have a pretty good wildlife center for a small town!  I'm sure there are zebras there.

I know.  I even went to the zoo, so it was definitely like a kid's dream.  IDK why...that's not what I had been incubating.

I know; I'm not even sure if it made sense, what she was saying, or if it was just gibberish.  I thought I understood it at the time, the meaning anyway, but the words were gone as soon as I woke up.  I was wondering about just what you say; I never merged into anybody like that before.  She was different than most DC's.  (I had been incubating:  "Find a nice DC to talk to, so maybe that's what she was.)

Oh shoot, you already saw one!  I didn't know that's what it was called.  That's the only one I've seen.

I think I saw a zorse IRL once; driving by Grant's Farm, I saw something in the field that looked like a horse, but was striped brown and black.  Is that what they look like?  I'll try to find a pic of one.

Whoa, these are so cool, I found some.  I know that's what I saw now in the field, a zorse.

Those hybrids are rather fun - presumably they're sterile?  Otherwise we'd see a lot more of them, right?

I know lions and tigers can be cross-bred.  And presumably domestic animals like dogs and cats have been the result of various cross-breedings over the years.  But could a horse be crossed with e.g. a giraffe?  A dog with a wolf?  A polar bear with a grizzly?

I don't know which are sterile and which are fertile other than the offspring of horses and donkeys are usually sterile because a difference in the number of chromosomes between the two species.  I don't know if a zebra has the same number as a horse or a donkey.  Interesting; I'll look that up.

I doubt how many of them there are depends on whether they are fertile or not.  Like mules, they are bred.

Last I heard, dogs are all the ancestors of some that were domesticated in Asia and spread from there.  (It was really interesting; they may have been domesticated in less than one human generation.   It wasn't on purpose; as people settled in villages, the less fearful wolves got separated from the more fearful, scavenging and breeding at the trash heap.  They can do this experiment with foxes, breeding the less fearful ones, and get dog-like creatures in a few generations. They bark, they come when they are called, they have different coat patterns and tail shapes.  It's amazing.)

Dog + wolf:  Yes, those are pretty common.  You get a hybrid that may have the aggression of a wolf combined with the lack of fear of a dog.  Not usually a good pet.

Horse + giraffe:  No.  Giraffes are more related to cows than horses.  I'm sure they can't breed.  I don't know about a cow + giraffe, but I'm thinking probably not.

Polar bear + grizzly:  Yes, and it's happening now in the wild as polar bear ranges shrink.  Polar bears separated from grizzlies recently in evolutionary history.  They have a name, but I forgot what it is.  Pizzly bear?

Chimp + human:  possibly, and there may be at least one example.

I think the lion/tiger one is pretty amazing; they look so different, you wouldn't think they would be closely related enough to have offspring.

Dreams in this post:   D:0 L:0 F:3

Tom was attacking me last night, not my SP, for real this time!  He was having bad dreams, and two or three times woke me up by kicking and hitting.  When I asked what he was dreaming about:  "Things are chasing me".   Roll Eyes  So now I'm tired today.  angry1

Kids' Demands Fragment

1)  No yukky Halloween candy.

2)  All Halloween candy is to be clearly labeled on the outside of the container.

Mud in Coffee Fragment (part of a long dream)

Cousin P puts mud-balls in my coffee.  I tell her I was going to spend the day with her, but now I'm not going to.

Little Horses Fragment (hmm, I wonder where that came from?)

There is a pen with some under-sized horses in it.  Several babies or young ones are following a grown male.  The babies get trapped behind a fence, and want to get to the male, but he just ignores them and goes on eating at a distance.  My Dad and I have a disembodied conversation about this; he says the male is being purposely cruel and neglectful, but I tell him I think he is just oblivious.

Yes that's a good name. Smiley

Really?  Sounds dodgy.  I suppose I can't help thinking I've met some Gorilla+human combos in my time Grin

I guess they're both cats.  And I guess other big cats can interbreed.  Presumably elephants form Africa and India too.  I mean with each other, not with big cats chuckle

ROFL love the discussion about interspecies breeding.

No, honestly, I've never seen a pic of a Zonkey. I did see several Zorse pictures (never IRL :( ) but I just guessed it would be called a Zonkey  chuckle
They are so beautiful! Too bad zebra's are hard to find and Zorse's aren't very predictable and hard to train, in contrast to Mules.

WHAT? Did Tom tell you he was dreaming about something chasing him? I thought he told you he never dreams...

Too bad about the poor recall and you being tired :( Well, tonight the weekend starts, so good luck for tonight!

That made me smile and feel happy that you thought about me while you were out having fun.  hug  I like how I can see your (one) shadow.

MB: remember that dumbell that had my name on it? let tom know that things chasing him should be the least of his worries... "hell hath no fury like a woman deprived of her LDs" lol..

Well...I can't push it too far, not with all the disturbance Tom has had to put up with over the last couple years.  I tried to tell him the next time they chased him, he would know he was dreaming, but he wasn't aware enough to take advantage of it.  shakehead  Probably would have forgotten it anyway.

They are so beautiful! Too bad zebra's are hard to find and Zorse's aren't very predictable and hard to train, in contrast to Mules.

I figured that.  I didn't even know if a zebra was even able to really be tamed.

Quote
WHAT? Did Tom tell you he was dreaming about something chasing him? I thought he told you he never dreams...

Oh, he was literally punching and kicking me all night (rather feebly, so I didn't get hurt, just annoyed) and he was hard to wake up, but when I finally did of course I asked him what he was dreaming about--that's the only time he is able to remember, and usually he doesn't remember any of it the next morning.  It sounds really vague; "something", he doesn't even know what it is.  How sad.  Maybe some people's dreams don't have as much detail or something.

Quote
