This is the first entry of my new dream journal.  Please forgive the name, I'll come up with something cooler at some future time.

I was at out office in Amberg German, we had just concluded a series of meetings and were at the cafeteria.  This cafe required you to purchase a smart card and periodically refill it from an automated cash machine in the coat room of the cafeteria.  So far, totally in line with reality.  I was having problems getting my Euro's out and put into the machine.  For some reason, the machine had a time limit similar to what I've seen in parking garages in France.  If you don't put your money in fast enough, it would just reset and give you all your money back.  After this happened a couple of times I recognized a dream sign, "Frustrating activity" and went lucid.

The landscape and everything in it immediately went to Black and white when I became lucid.  I must have been near the end of my REM cycle since I really had to struggle to hold lucidity for more than 20 seconds.  Oh well, 20 seconds after three weeks without was still OK by me!  Grin

And I am the FIRST to post in Seeker's DJ!!!!

 cheers

I've not been lucid in a couple weeks, Seeker.  It's getting frustrating, as most of the crises are finally abating and I'm catching up on life and well rested.  It's weird how things change so quickly and we don't think about the techniques to salvage things fast enough to do anything about it.

Tonight!!!!

Congrats on the mini-LD Smiley "Frustrating activity" is a good dreamsign - I should keep that in mind for myself as well.

Keep up the good work!

Lot's of great dreams last night, this means the chemical imbalances in my brain are beginning to resolve themselves!  YAY!!!

Cannot remember a lot, just something about trying to find the perfect tennis show that left the correct impression in the dirt.

Seekerland is a fine name; kind of sounds like an amusement park, but one with a serious theme!  Cheesy

Although I have fragments of recall of three dreams, this one stand out since it was so vivid.

I was in a spaceship, or control room and we were hovering over this planet that had been decimated.  I wondered what could have caused such destruction and was shown a time lapse simulation of what had happned.

It began with volcanic eruptions on one part of the planet, the hot lava gathered in one location and pooled together.  Rather than cooling into a hard lava plane, the lave heated the crust and caused it to slump.  This was not a smallslump, but rather covered about 10% of the northern hemisphere.  This reinforced itself, more melting caused greater imbalance, which caused more eruptions.  I watched as the area grew, it looked like a huge sink hole on the face of the planet.  Eventually, the lava stopped, but the subsistence of the crust did not.  It grew and as it did, rivers, then lakes, then oceans drained into the huge sink hole.

Wow, that sounds quite impressive to behold.

And also quite depressing, it was a living planet at the beginning.  This has got to be a carryover from some of the stuff that is going on IRL with me right now.

Oh wow, that planet dream made me sad, just to hear of it sounds depressing, and you say it relates to life? I hope that, unlike the planet, you will break out of the crust and become green again.

Some background first.  I spent all day yesterday trying to get my head around a problem.  I need to profile the execution times of individual instructions on a computer we are designing at work.  This computer has caching and all kinds of threads that execute and interrupt each other constantly.  It's a real nightmare.

Anyhoo, it carried over into my night, very restless night, poor sleep trying to solve this problem all night long.  Cannot remember the details, but I awoke this morning right after telling the project lead.  "OK, unless the laws of the univers or my belief in God changes, THIS is how we are going to solve the problem".

I'll have to remember that phrase and use it IRL.

chuckle Or either of those two things very likely?  Hey, you might get a new catch-phrase going.  LOL

Hopefully you dreamed the solution and it's now in your subconscious, ready to surface just when you need it.

I think it DID help, and it wasn't even lucid.  I'm thinking in terms of statistical analysis this morning.  If I find a mean and throw out everything outside of the second standard deviation, I think I can calculate some meaningful data.

Black and White lucid dream.

It didn't last too long, but black and white dream are amazing. So artistic Smiley

Ahh that always seems to happen, a problem irl, and it carries into restless sleep. I know how that can be.
