Ah - I should have mentioned that they were clearly screams of ecstasy, not of horror.  My companion giggled when she said that - it was obvious that it was something she had grown used to happening in her ward.

Strange dreams, pj.  So different than your usual.

I wonder what they mean.  Do you know what inspired them?

Yes, they sure were different - both of them, and in such different ways.

I thought about what might have led to either of those dreams yesterday and didn't come up with anything.  No movies, books, encounters, unusual events... nothing.

And speaking of nothing, all I woke with this morning was a fragment of trying to sleep in an open lodge of some kind and going over to roll somebody over who was snoring.  There was another note about building maintenance, but not even a fragmental memory of what that might have been about.

Yea, that's what I was thinking.  The first one was so sci-fi.

That's very strange, I think.  Well, dreams are like that, I guess.  Sometimes I have a dream that seems like it should have been somebody else's too.

Well, the building maintenance sounds more like one of your own dreams, at least!

Dreams in this post:   D:1 L:1 F:0

My family is with a couple we haven't seen in years, M. and M.  I am sitting in the back of their huge motor home with my wife and daughter as he drives us all someplace.  The vehicle is equipped for seamstress or tailor work, with cabinets of material, work tables and thread.  As I sit, I pick up a brown cone-shaped thing and realize it is some kind of fancy thread dispenser.  I can't see how it works, so I feel around inside until I find the free end and pull a little bit.  Very soon, I have a huge snarled mess of thread in my hands and realize that untangling it or setting it right is hopeless.

I toss it to the side and start looking around in an open cabinet that M. has said we could have, along with everything in it.  The first thing I pull out is some crazy battery powered device that is designed to rotate a prom dress skirt while distributing a scent.  I talk about how ridiculous this thing is, but my wife stops me and whispers that our daughter rented something similar to it for the dance she is going to - a device without the rotating feature.  I "remember" that our daughter is looking for material to make a dress for this dance from, so I continue digging in the cabinet.  I find a bolt of a beautiful silvery material and show it to her, but she doesn't like it.

We arrive at our destination - a locally maintained historic village.  There is a flea market going on throughout it, a quarter-scale railroad and other rides, and a variety of old homes and buildings.  We decide to split up, because I would like to look around the flea market for an antique clock to temporarily replace the one from our dining room waiting for me to re-bush it.

There are a lot of clocks, but all of them are really pricey.  I approach one table and am assaulted by small dogs on tethers, who jump all over me, licking and drooling and clawing.  As I leave that area, my daughter and somebody else are approaching it.  I warn them about the dogs.

I continue walking.  There is a group of people waiting for the arrival of the train, so I wait for a few moments while admiring the detail that went into the scaled reproductions of the warning gates, signs and other hardware.  I think that this must have cost a fortune in custom cast iron alone.  I cross the track and walk into another area dense with flea market tables.

My daughter is walking next to me.  I put my arm around her shoulders and say, "So, cutie... what are we going to do next?"  When the young lady smiles and blushes, I realize with alarm that she ISN'T my daughter.  I step further away from her, worried now that I'll be accused of accosting a minor.  She smiles, though, and tells me what her pans are for the day.

As she is talking and I'm preparing to turn and get away from her, I realize that I'm not wearing my prescription sunglasses.  They are nowhere on me, and I think I must have set them down somewhere.  I hope that it wasn't at the table with the dogs, but head back that way anyway.
--

I am walking through a neighborhood laid out exactly like my parents', but I know it isn't because the houses are all wrong.  As I walk, I notice two dimes on the sidewalk. I bend down to pick them up, then notice a couple more.  Then I see a nickle and a quarter, which I pick up as well.  Each time I pick up some money, I spot more and more.  I start thinking that somebody has dropped a bank or something and wonder if I shouldn't go up to the house and ask.  I look at the money in my hand and think, "What difference does it make anyway?  This is a dream."

I push up off of the ground and fly very low around the corner, having trouble gaining altitude.  I alight as I approach a group of men in front of a lavishly landscaped, huge house.  All are wearing long blood red robes and caps.  I run toward them, shouting at the one in my path to push me into the air when I jump up toward him.  He cups his hands and kneels down.  I cleanly step into his cupped hands and he hurls me into the air about 30 feet or so.  I hover around and thank them.

I notice that there are dead branches in some of the trees at this level.  I pull a particularly big one out and throw it down to the ground, explaining that there are more.  The men wave me on - they don't want me thrown dead branches down at them apparently.

It is a beautiful day - absolutely gorgeous... cool and comfortable, and the sky is blue and sunny.  I slowly fly around, looking at the different houses standing where the houses of my folks and friends would be if this were there neighborhood.  The homes are lavish and very diverse, from ultra-modern looking places with built-in pools and glass ceilings to homes that look like they are made from soda crackers.

After a good while of this exploration, I realize that I should probably be doing something more interesting than sight-seeing, but I can't remember anything I want to do.  So I dive into the ground, wondering what I'll find there.

I find myself awake.

Nice Lucid. Isn't it interesting how the mind is so accomodating in terms of making a beautiful scene. Even when it's the dead of winter, I can always rely on my lucid dreams to bask in the sun a little  Smiley

Interesting dream.  I find it amazing how our mind can wander through so many subjects in such a short space of time.  The dream goes from riding in a motor home to diving into the ground.

I'm sure most people won't have any idea what you are talking about when you say you are going to re-bush your clock. Smiley

Now that's a dress!  chuckle  I wonder if it's been done.

Train dream.  I'm going to try and incubate one.  I'm going for reverse dream-signs; RCing at things that I never see IRL or dreams.

Good use of DC's!  I wonder why they were dressed so oddly; was there light shining in on your eyes or something?  That sounds like something that could have been an outside influence.  Maybe.

Might as well do a little cleaning up, as long as you were up there. chuckle

I had fun telling somebody lucidity last night, and the amazing details the mind can come up with.  That's the kind of thing I was talking about.

Dreams in this post:   D:2 L:0 F:4

A GM night - no lucids, lots of weird fragments.

I am at my parents' house.  My mother has shrunk from normal size to about three feet high.  She walks into the family room where my dad and I are and asks where the scale is.  Dad points beside his chair.  I watch as she gets on the scale and proudly announces that she's up to 65 pounds.  I ask what she got down to, and she says 40 pounds.  She doesn't have the strength to return to the living room, so I carry her.
--

I am at my parents' house.  It is Sunday, and I tell my dad I'm going to my friend J.'s house to do my Social Studies homework.  He grows furious and starts screaming at me about using my time better, and how I should stay home and take care of what needs to be done rather than running off to my friend's house.  I lose my temper and engage him.
--

I am at my parents' house.  I get a phone call from my friend J.'s mother, asking if I will come over and help J. count money.  She says that if I do so and sign as a witness she'll add me to her will.  I'm happy to help out, but really don't want to be doing it in exchange for her money.  I "remember" a lot of detail about the situation - that the floors of her home are stuffed with bills and coins, and that for some reason the time has come to pull it all out and figure out how much is there.
--

I'm at my parents' house.  I wake up and do a reality check - I'm really awake.  (Not.  Oh well.)  I walk out into the garage and then realize that I'll forget all my dreams if I don't write them down.  I can't find anything to write with, so I take out my pocket knife and scratch key words on a green-painted table that is there in the garage.  (I can't remember what I scratched - they all seem to be fragments that have now escaped me.)
--

I am watching a scene where some kind of huge hive/mound on the ground is spouting creatures into the sky like a volcano.  The hive is slowly deflating as they come out, and the cover the landscape.
--

Something involving Moonbeam and Super Duck - cant' remember what.

Reminds me of Starship Troopers.

I thought about what might have led to either of those dreams yesterday and didn't come up with anything.  No movies, books, encounters, unusual events... nothing.

The first one of those dreams I might blame on having seen the commercial for the new Mummy movie, which is getting played quite a bit right now.
The second one is just part of being a guy. Wink

I've had those Gm dreams like that where they are so crazy and so many that it's hard to remember them.   I miss the intensity of the HI's and the WILD's, but at least getting a little more tolerant calms that down somewhat.  Of course it sometimes fails too.  It's such a fine line, getting that nice stable clear lucid.  Just like without it, really, but you have more opportunities with it.
