I had an aware DC dream, but I was a little disappointed because I didn't get any questions asked, and I seemed to have regressed in my ability to deal with aggressive DC's, and failed to control the situation, and my fear. This was a DILD after a failed WILD, supplement enhanced. It is in three parts, but they were one long dream.
Part 1 - Elves and Fairies (a movie dream)
Two boys are flying above a cityscape. Between them they have a net, in which an animal is trapped and struggling. The animal escapes--it is a beautiful winged creature, not a bird or a butterfly but something in between. It is swoops and dives, trying to avoid re-capture, but the boys are skilled flyers too, and are right behind it with the net stretched between them. The creature is pitiful in its fear and panic. Escape seems impossible; the boys nearly have it again several times. The creature suddenly plummets towards the earth, preferring to kill itself than be captured. The boys pause, hovering over the spot where it hit for a moment, then they fly away. The creature is motionless for some time, but then begins to stir--it's alive! Whether it will recover and fly again cannot be determined, but there is some hope for it.
Part 2 - The Dwarf and the Baby
In the city-scape below, two men are walking together. The neighborhood is mixed industrial and run-down residential, very dark and dirty. Both men are shabby and derelict, one old and one younger. Altho both appear destitute, the older man seems have taken the younger under his wing, and is helping the younger man and giving him advice; he may even be taking him back to where he lives, which is hardly big enough for one person. The old man says, "It gets very strange around here when it gets hot".
The young man notices a thermometer, which reads over 90 degrees F. He sits down on the side-walk, exhausted. A dwarf and a baby walk by him. He thinks this must be what the old man was talking about--strange fantastic characters that come out when the day heats up. The dwarf walks by him, but the baby comes to him and tries to communicate with him. The baby is upset, and the man tries to comfort it.
A bell rings, and workers pour out of a near-by factory. The are laughing and joking, glad to be out of work, and several of them are drinking already from 40 oz. bottles they are carrying. The young man tries to tell the factory workers about the strange encounter with the dwarf and the baby. A projection of the incident begins to play on the side of a building--but the man is alone in the scene, no baby is there with him, and it appears that he is just a crazy person talking and crying to himself in the street. He is very ashamed for a moment, but the factory workers laugh, and the man realizes that it has happened to all of them at one time or another--this area is known for the spirits that play tricks on people.
I become the man. Someone runs up to the man/me and says, "Your friend has been stabbed!" I run into the shabby apartment that I have been sharing with the old man. There is a woman laying on the couch, bleeding from multiple stab wounds, obviously dying. There are several other people in the room who are milling around helplessly. I run to her side; I don't know her, but I'm horrified. "What can I do!?" I cry, and yell at the people to call a doctor. The stabbed woman sees the candy bar in my hand, and asks for a bite. I feel a little reluctant to give it to her, since I don't want to eat after her, but I do, and she is grateful. She says that she is still hungry, so I go to the kitchen to get her more to eat. I find some old stale food and bring it to her, and she eats it.
I do this several times, and each time I go to the kitchen, more food has been prepared for me to give to the woman. I find some fancy cake that I know wasn't there the time before, and I think, the magical people that live here, like the dwarf and the baby, must be responsible. I take a bite of the cake--and it comes to me...this is a dream!
The Art Shop and Mean DC's
I go back out into the front room. The stabbed woman has completely recovered. I take the quickest escape I can see--I run for the window and dive thru. I'm falling from an extreme height, higher than I've ever fallen before. I try to slow my descent so the impact won't be too much and maybe wake me up. I don't manage to slow down, but at least I am prepared when I hit the ground, and really don't feel anything at all. I instantly reverse and fly back up into the air, and cruise around looking for something interesting. A few DC's notice me, children who point and tug at their parents arms to show them the amazing sight of a flying person, but the grown-ups ignore them.
I go into a house, thru the front door. A woman and several kids are watching TV. I sit next to the woman. She is not alarmed, and thinks that I am a friend of a friend. She begins to talk about some money that they raised for some function, and I play along, nodding and smiling. The kids take no notice of me. Then I see a face outside of the window; it seems to be someone leaning over from the roof, because I think it is upside down. The face stares at me, becoming strange and deformed, and I can't tell if it is upside-down or right-side up. I lose my nerve, and decide this isn't the right place to talk to any DC's. I make my escape via the window again.
I fly for a distance, then I see a shop and glide thru the window. It is a wonderful mixture of a book store and art gallery. I float down amongst the tables of books and paintings, landing here and there, leaping like a ballet dancer, very gracefully balancing on one toe on the top of precarious stacks, and feeling quite proud of myself for my acrobatic abilities. The paintings are incredible; glowing and iridescent and magical; they are arranged by subject, and seem to go on forever. I stop occasionally to admire them, and wonder about my mind's ability to create such beauty.
Most of the people in the shop are rummaging thru the books and paintings, and don't pay much attention to me. However, one man does notice me. He comes and asks if he can help me, eyebrows raised as if he disapproves of my behavior, and I realize he works at the shop. I tell him that I am just looking, and he directs me to various the various categories of art that I might be interested in. He seems quite friendly and helpful, so I say, "I'm not really here to shop--I'd rather ask you some questions." His demeanor changes instantly. His friendliness is gone, and he turns his back and walks away from me, making negative comments.
Well, so much for that one, I think. I turn and walk up a spiral staircase. I ascend a few flights, and I leave the shop and am walking up narrow flights of stairs. After quite a few flights of stairs, there is a man standing in my path, and I stop a few steps below him.
"I'll answer your questions," he says to me. I get bad vibes; he is a little too helpful seeming, smiling at me, but in a leering way that I've come to recognize from those DC's who are going to give me trouble. OK, I think, and try to remember what I want to ask him. As I am thinking, I realize that both of the DC's hands are on my shoulders. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY SHOULDERS!", I say to him. He continues to leer at me, and moves his hands down to my chest. "Is this better?", he says in a sarcastic, slimy way. I'm really not liking this situation at all, and to make it worse, everything goes black. I can still feel his hands on me, and I hear a woman giggling. I say, "Who is that? Who is here with us?" and the man says, "Oh, tell her your name is Boomer." They are laughing and not even trying to hide their deception from me. I feel very uncomfortable, so I wimp out and wake myself up.
FA--In the Bathroom
I'm in a dark room. I instantly realize what has happened. The room seems to be a bedroom, with a bathroom attached. Out of habit, I walk into the bathroom, even tho I'm aware that I'm still dreaming. The door swings shut behind me. I push it, but it doesn't open. Everything is black, except for a crack of light under the door, and I see shadows like people walking around on the other side. I feel trapped, and think I've run out of ideas to improve this dream, so I wake myself up.
