Post-workshop review
This thread is for comments on the Engaging with Dreams workshop, 1-15 Feb 2010. Please reply with anything you'd like to say about the workshop. What helped? What opportunities were missed? Ideas for related themes? Anything.
For my part, I have to say I learned quite a bit. There was more variety of styles in people's responses to my dreams than I expected. This suggests to me that there are many possible approaches to dream work, from interpretation and analysis to building relationships, to personal challenges.
I also (and I expected this) don't think I'm any close to any general theories about dreams. That doesn't mean they're random, just that we think about them in so many ways that beliefs about dreams is a bit like beliefs about global economics - (i.e. take 10 economists and you get 10 different answers).
Looking forward to meeting you all elsewhere in the forum (usually the DJs in my case).
Cheers
Bu

Thank you for this innovative and distinctly different workshop, BU! It was really fun breaking out of my usual DJ beat, and interesting to learn about and revisit some of the different ways dreams are approached.
For a community that exists because of and for dreaming, it is really fascinating to learn how wildly diverse our views about dreaming really are.

It was great to see how different people react to the same images, and how some things are important to some, and completely disregarded by others.

Thanks for running the workshop - it was very interesting reading through the mini DJs

Thanks BU for the workshop. I think I learned that I don't hate dream dictionaries as much as I thought. As long as I just use the interpretations as a guideline, they're helpful for getting me to think about the dreams in a way I might not have before.

It was helpful to look at dreams differently than I have been. In the past I've been pretty good at finding objects/events that trigger themes in my dreams, but perhaps have had a blind spot for the emotional. I was surprised by the emotions that emerged in my dreams from my waking life.

Thanks everyone. Seems ages ago now!
I don't know how to close down a board but I'm sure it will happen soon.
