An idea - LVILD (Layered Visualization)
« on: May 04, 2009, 09:38:00 PM »
Well, I had an idea today, and haven't even tried it myself yet.

It's pretty simple in concept: You visualize yourself doing something, and then visualize yourself doing something in that state. Eventually, I would guess you would have so many "layers", you would find yourself in a stable environment.

Please try it out and post results here. :D

Not quite clear on how the layering works.  Could you go into a little more detail?

We've had some success here with imagining tactile experiences to assist in WILDing.  Is that kind of like what you are talking about?

pj, I thought of it like expanding...

You have your basic self... Layer on some detail, maybe more doors, clearer images...

Not sure if Budster meant that or not, but that is how I took it.

I meant it in this way:

"Layer 0": The actual you, on your bed.
"Layer 1": Your imagined state.
"Layer 2": Your imagined state that you create in your first imagined state.
etc.

Perhaps a bit complicated, but I think it could work for some people.

Edit: Maybe it's not a bad thing the directions were unclear at first, if people take it another way, that might work better for them anyways. :D

Thank you for the clarification.  It seems worth a try to me!

Sometimes I do this accidentally in the process of falling asleep.  Seems to work well for WILDing, so sometimes I try it intentionally.  Haven't done it enough on purpose to say if it works or not though.

I did something similar to this a while back and it worked quite well.

I create a phantom of myself, and then had it create a phantom of itself and send it floating all over my house.

The reason this works is that the concentration required to do it can put a person into a trance state, which then makes it very easy to enter a WILD.

I may just try this again.  ;-D

I see what you mean, Moonbeam.
I might try your "reverse" method as well, that seems to have potential.

I'm glad people are trying this out. :D
