Need For Focused Goals
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:02:30 AM »
I'll keep this short and to the point.

Last night I got some descent sleep, did my WBTB and even used my normal dose of G. No lucids. That's pretty unusual for me. Missing is pretty rare, especially with supps.

However, I have noticed something that is worth sharing, and I will bet others can benefit from it. When I do a lot of last minute planning on what I will do while lucid, or what I will do (i.e. I'm a bit de-focused and non-committed) my lucid dreaming suffers and I might even miss. I have noticed this enough times to extract an obvious pattern.

When I am very focused and have a well defined set of goals or conditional goals, AND I am not second guessing anything, I almost always succeed.

Point - be confident, be focused and have a well defined plan going in. I think this general statement would be true of anyone, regardless of relative level of dreaming or lucid dreaming experience.

I agree... Some of my most successful nights were because I had a strong goal to accomplish. I am less likely to get lucid when I am without!
What would you do if you were dreaming right now?

Absolutely.

On the other hand, you're not the only one with a dry spell, Feist and I have a very bad dream recall too these days. (Feist with a bad dream recall, go figure...). I know some people are not open-minded to these kind of things but I thought that, maybe, it could have something to do with planetary movements? Because my practice is still the same (still, thanks for the reminder  ;) ), my sleep pattern is still the same, etc. I heard some of my friends had the same problem too.

But a plan is always a must indeed.  :)

I think in lucid dreaming having a plan is never a bad idea. Youll always know what step comes next and your success rate will go up. Just trying is not enough. :)
