It was weird because at first I had switchbacks going up the mountain, and whenever my left side was towards the mountain, it was fine, but when I would switch, it was really weird, like my legs went the right way, but my body wanted to be turned around the other way.  So I changed it to a continuous spiral path.  I think the problem was somehow related to lying on my right side.  I don't know why that would be, but that's all I could think of.

Or it could be the Coriolis effect.

I tried again this morning, but couldn't get back to sleep.  Tonight!

Good luck!

BTW, when you visualize things like this, do you actually see moving images of some kind in your mind? Or do you just think about the concept of doing whatever it is, without actually seeing an image? Not sure I'm doing it the right way.

You want to feel yourself being there, doing the thing, so it is more about just feeling yourself doing the thing. Sort of like concentrating on your third eye, only you'll be concentrating instead of what you're doing. Once your subconscious mind gets involved, the images will come automatically, and you'll be in a WILD...or a DSILD.

OK. That makes sense.

I start about by imagining it, and if it's working, it becomes like a dream, where I'm really doing it.

I never used to be able to visualize things and see them.  But now I can.  Not just with trying to WILD, I mean.  When I'm in bed and I try to "see" something, I really see it now.  I started practicing with just colors, like thinking, "red red red", and then I would see it.  Now I can see whole things, like animals, that move and everything.  But when I'm trying to WILD and it's working, it's more of a whole body thing, it's like you are in between awake and dreaming.  I do it and see it like in a dream, but I'm not quite asleep yet.  I can't WILD unless I get to that state, and even then, it's iffy, but it's a good sign.

Nice idea to start with colors and move onto more complicated things.

Thanks, Moonbeam. Visualization skills are definitely something I need to work on.

I had some limited success again with this, but I think it was too close to time to wake up and I just couldn't fall back asleep.

So I went into climbing, at first just like the idea of climbing, then I changed it to climbing ladder.  I got into the motion of it, and then I had some HI of looking out over the ocean, and there were all these colorful fantasy-looking skyscrapers and spires that were the same fluorescent colors as when I was visualizing the numbers, and I could see ladders on the top of them, like I was climbing.  It was going really well, I even got some vertigo and a feeling of panic from being so high, so I figured it was working.  And it was incredibly beautiful.  But then I started like gripping the ladder really hard and putting my feet down on it really forcefully, and with one step it sounded really loud and it kind of shocked me awake.   :sad1:
Excellent! Excellent! We'd consider that more of a full blown success rather than a limited success though, because you were looking out over an ocean with all of those colorful fantasy looking skyscrapers and spires with florescent colors, and then saw ladders on top of the ladder you were already climbing up, in addition to the feeling of panic you felt from being so high. And then the ladder starting making a really loud sound when you put your foot down on it. :chuckle:

Don't let the fact that you were more aware and in control in this WILD than you might normally be make you think it wasn't a WILD, because that's the way these WILDs can be. Even though you were in control of the entire process and capable of changing it or ending it at any time, the images you saw. and sounds you heard were supplied by your subconscious, which would make it a WILD.
