I Dreamyth: Of Rings & Other Middle Earthly Things

Just had to add this from a couple weekends ago.

Thieves at Fan Expo

I am in Toronto looking for the entrance to Fan Expo. I am pulled aside by guards and escorted through mazes of corridors where I am shown into a room where Sylvestor McCoy is sitting. It's kind of cool but what in the world would he want with me? He makes small talk, asks how I am, what I've been up to. He then asks about The Ring, as if that's normal casual conversation. I'd  forgotten all about the ring! I search my pockets for it. Can't find it. I then try, quite obviously too late, to act like I don't know what he's talking about. I quickly exit the room. I think I must have lost the ring on the way in.

I scurry about Fan Expo looking on the floors for the ring. I look up at one point and catch a glimpse of a guy who looks very familiar. It isn't until he sees me and takes off in a  hurry that I realize he is Martin Freeman. "Get back here you bastard! You stole my ring!" I yell after him. I chase him through the crowds. We come near the celebrity booths and I happen to see Elijah Wood signing autographs. I push and shove my way through the line up and grab him by the shirt. "Freeman took the ring. Help me get it back!" Security comes and drags me away, with Wood looking at me like I'm completely insane.

I manage to break away from the security and sneak back into the crowd. I have no idea where my ring is. I get panicky and lost feeling. I happen to hear someone say Martin Freeman is heading for the CN Tower. Immediately I dash to it and head up the elevator. This all feels familiar somehow but I can't connect it together with any of my memories. Once at the top I find out Freeman is out on Sky Walk. Sky Walk? Am I desperate enough to chase him outside the top of the CN Tower? I pace about and for a few seconds and think, "Eff it. I've come this far." I shove some money at the Sky Walk people and run through twisty corridors to the Sky Walk exit. I don't suit up. I'm too desperate. I am about to step out onto the walk but am grabbed from behind. I nearly fall off the walk...

I wake... clutching onto the couch I was sleeping on. lol
Looks like the ring is out of my hands now. *wonders if I should try get it back*

lol you should totally obsess about it again. You had such the coolest lucids when you did. That dream was really funny. I'm struck at how well your SC wound the idea of the ring into a realistic setting. Elijah looking at you all weird, being kept from going out on the Sky Walk without gear, etc.
Very cool. Sucks that you lost the ring though.

Maybe you should check if JD has the ring?  He still in your basement?

It's not lost. I know who has it. I'll just have to pay him a visit next time I get lucid. 
I've considered getting it back but I'm currently working on something else and I'm not sure if I can focus on two goals at the same time. Or... maybe I can. It'd be way more challenging to try work on two separate goals at once. Dream multitasking. *tents fingers and thoughtfully considers*

I don't know if I could do the Skywalk. I've been to the top of the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, on it's upper deck with a puny chainlink fence between me and certain death. That was kind of scary. Skywalk would be a totally different level, especially when they have you lean out over the city.

That dream WAS stupidly real. I'll tell you how it came about. Me and my sister were plotting out our day for Fan Expo. In the midst of our maniacal scheming we decided we were going to go Friday instead of Saturday so she could catch the Matt Smith Q&A. I said... but then I'll miss Elijah Wood! He won't be there till the next day. Someone's got to pay for what a pain in the ass dream Frodo was and who better than Elijah Wood? That bastard wouldn't give up MY RING. We then joked about all the possible scenarios that could ensue from me making some kind of insane statement towards Wood. I then said maybe it's better i don't see him, I dreamed before that me and one of his characters were in a building like the CN Tower and we both fell, kicking each other's asses, to our deaths.

And hence came the dream.
