Dreamscape Crooners
« on: December 26, 2019, 07:28:33 PM »
Have you ever belted out a song in the midst of a dream?
Was your voice your own or did it sound like someone else?
Did the dream song reflect on your waking life situations?

I started this thread to keep track of songs that we sing in our dreams. There may be deeper meanings to them... or maybe not. Mostly, I thought it would be fun to know what music is whirling around in the minds of dreamers. If you've ever sang a song out loud while dreaming, share your experience here. Let's see what dreamers croon about.

Our car radio was stuck on an Aerosmith song that was raunchy and obscene. It played over and over again and even though I hated the song with all my being, I eventually sang along to it. To force the song out of my mind I created another song based on the obscene song and sang that instead of the offending lyrics. My car mates didn't like it but I didn't care. I just sang as loudly and out of tune as I could trying to drown out the original song.

I'm not the kind of person that sings in waking life, not even along to songs playing.

But there has been times in lucid dreams. The only moments in my life where I felt such an intense sense of joy that I randomly broke out into song.

I remember one time having one of my lucid silly moments. And since I was so happy about being in lucid dream. I got a bunch of people in my dream singing. "If you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands."  And then of course, clapping hands. :)

Oh, I remember singing a made up song, I think. "If you're tough enough..." Something like that.  Because I had used Telekinesis on a car and pulled the car towards me really fast like I was a powerful magnet.  And just as the car was about to crash into me, I made my hand into a fist and punched the car really hard stopping it in it's tracks and smashing it with my fist.

Other than that I don't remember what songs I was singing. If it happens again, or I fond something I forgot about in my journal I'll pot it here.

Those are awesome examples of dream singing powers. I wish I had read this sooner. Maybe I could have fought off my latest alien attack by getting them invested in a few rounds of "If you're happy and you know it."

I was lucid the other night and to hang onto my rickety lucidity I sang,
"I'm lucid. I'm lucid. I'm Loooo...oooo...oooo...cid."
It didn't give any killer abilities but helped me to at least stay aware.

I sang a lot last night in a lucid dream. Some songs I made up. Others I tried to sing but didn't know in their entirety. From now on, after singing songs in dreams, I'll take the time to fully learn those songs in waking life, a way to honor the dream.

The one song, Bobcaygeon, I managed to sing most of but not all of. I only know the beginning and the chorus. Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofChsLBfBp0

Last night I was thinking that it might be fun to try whistling a tune in a lucid dream. I wonder what that might be like. If it would be a total fail or end up performing the most beautiful whistling ever. I've never thought to try it before, I'll have to out in on the to do list of things to try.

And old musical goal I used to have that I've still yet to do. Play a piano while flying it through the sky and the piano set to burning flames.. Streak across the sky on my flaming piano just going off on the keyboard. :)
