99 Workshop Close
« on: July 19, 2008, 04:24:53 PM »
Hi Gang,

Sorry for being so late in closing this out, real life has decided it requires my attention.

Thanks to everyone that participated in this workshop, did anyone's dry spell break?  I'm still pretty dry myself.

Any suggestions as to how this workshop can be improved for next time are very, very welcome.  I'll be moving this to the workshop archive in a few days.

Well I've been having somewhat of a dry month myself, but it has nothing to do with this workshop, because all of the ideas have been excellent.  Thanks Seeker!

My dry spell has been due to taking my supplements too often, which has given me a ton of vivid dreams and image streams, but very few high-level lucids, since I've built up a tolerance now.

Hopefully with my a better planned schedule of when and how often to take these supplements I can get back on track.

Well I've been going through a dry spell since like the end of January. Ofcourse I've had a few lucids every few months since then. However since this workshop I have had 2 lucids in a week. The first actually being on my night of being a recipient! I'd say this workshop has worked wonders.

Likd iadr, I'd say all the ideas are excellent and as long as we keep the positive attitudes and support for each other it will continue to work.

Seeker, does it worry you that you won't be able to LD without GM.. that physically even if you don't need it to LD.. your "mind" will believe that you do?

Thank you for this workshop, Seeker.  :) It saddens me that I wasn't as active ans the last one. But I think it helped break my little dry spell; I had an LD this morning. :) I can't wait for the next one. Maybe it could be a workshop that focuses on a specific technique.

Well, I broke my dry spell last night doing something similar to the mantra thing, only by using suggestions while in self hypnosis instead.

After getting down into a fairly deep state of relaxation, I gave myself the suggestion that when I counted from 1 to 5, I would begin seeing images which I would be able to enter into and become lucid from.

After I got to 5 and saw no images I kept repeating the number 5 for another 4 or 5 times, with the suggestion that I would soon begin seeing dream images, after which they started up, and I was able to enter and become lucid from.

One of those rare non-supplement lucids for me that was actually quite vivid and in which I had control of, and which even lasted 20 minutes.  So, it is indeed possible to still have lucids without the supplements once a person starts using the supplements.

iadr, it's great to know that lucids are indeed possible without supplements!

I also like your 1-5 image count suggestion!  :goodjob:

Yes, thats how I get mine as well, meditation and mantra chanting and self hypnosis. I am really glad it works for you too  :)

Having the workshop going on has helped me to get focused to work on my dream journal better so my recalls have certainly improved.  No LDs this month so far but I have quite a lot of my wife's family staying with me at the moment and so in typical British fashion I have been a little stressed ;) It's hard to LD under the scrutiny of the Inlaws ;)

Thanks Seeker I think the workshops are a fantastic idea :D I hope there will be many more. I wonder if there will be a workshop on techniques (or just one technique at a time) e.g. a WILD workshop.  I definately need to get the hang of a technique as DILDs are ok but they are pretty hit and miss - would be good to induct at will!
Total Lifetime LDs: 54

The workshop was great! I think my dry-spell is really just all from my balancing of work and lucid focus and homework [which I only have 2.5 weeks to do now >.<] as well as my late night sleeping shift. My recall has improved though, by a good amount, I can just tell easily it has, so that's a definite thank you!

I like the idea of having a workshop that focuses solely on one lucid technique, because if there's any hitches for one person, another person can help give them advice, as well as help everyone broaden their LD induction techniques, because after say, a month of using it, they might find it easier to induce a LD that way or something.
Back from the dead...let's hope I'll stick to it.
