Lucidity Blog 404
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:56:00 PM »
You may want to consider setting up a custom 404 page for Lucidity Blog.  The current one redirects to Mortal Mist's 404 page.  The same thing happened with LT before I fixed it. (By the way I'm jumping back on that project again and hoping to get down enough to start looking for authors soon.)  For example, follow this link. http://lucidityblog.com/;sdkjg;fdlkjgklfjs

Nice find.  Even though the front page project is just about done for a while (except for the theme), I didn't notice that there until recently either.  Easy thing to miss!

I'll do it tonight.

:profound:  Thank you for the reminder young man.  I get confused sometimes.

Seriously, please do point things out like this if I forget them.  :)

Done.  It's quite basic but can easily be customized if desired.

I also took the liberty of upgrading wordpress along with some modules.  Everything went smoothly, except the "Twitter Tools" module states that settings need to be updated:
Quote
Twitter recently changed how it authenticates its users, you will need you to update your Twitter Tools settings. We apologize for any inconvenience these new authentication steps may cause.
It appears that the account information for twitter needs to be reentered, but I don't know what it is, and LB needs to be registered as an app there, or something.  I'll handle it if someone shares the twitter info with me.

Thanks. :D  It's good to finally have that out of the way.

The tweet think works from the user's account, not the official LucidityBlog account.  What it is asking for is YOUR Twitter login info to tweet through your account.

It is working perfectly.

Hmmm..  It was asking in the admin section, on upgrading the module, as if the module needs it to function on behalf of LB.

See here http://lucidityblog.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=twitter-tools.php.

I just went to investigate it further; the Twitter "app registration page" is down for maintenance.  I'll check back later.

Ah - I see.  Still, I was able to re-tweet the top article without issue and I see somebody else did as well.

Ok. . . I'll dig in this morning some time.

I'm stumped.  I don't know what a "Twitter stream" is, and can't determine what the "via" is.

Yay! We connected with Twitter.
:wowsuper:

I somehow managed it.  If you're interested, I used the account you provided in the PM and the details are at http://dev.twitter.com/apps.

I *think* this whole app registration thing is meant for if you or I actually wrote an app for this, and we are supposed to provide details about it so that we may use their (Twitter's) API.  However, because of recent changes in the API, WP's Twitter Tools is requiring us to register them, as if the plugin was our own custom app.  They apologize for making it needlessly complicated.  Whatever..

"via" can be arbitrary, I believe; it's what is shown on the tweets.  I just chose "lucidityblog."  I don't think I saw anything about streams.  Anyway, now that it's "connected" the plugin should work as intended--however that is.  There is a boatload of settings for it; I don't know what they all do, since I know little of Twitter.
