Alternate Wives

My friend D. has arranged for a selection of several lovely Chinese women who all want to be my wife.  They are all very nice people and I know D's intentions were good, but he apparently forgot I am already married and don't want that to change.

I try to be gracious with the ladies, but the language barrier makes it very difficult for me to explain that I'm not interested in any of them.  Instead, they think they are competing with one another for my attention and favor.  I feel really badly for them as I try finding a way to extract myself from this mess.

How in the world would you manage so many spouses if you couldn't extract yourself from the mess?

It's true, I'm afraid.  Polygamy is not likely in my future.

I hear ya. One relationship is complicated enough. I can not understand in the least how some people can have more than one spouse at a time. Sounds like so much work.

    Music Classes

It is time for Music class.  I walk to that end of the campus and find two large old music studios being used for classrooms.  I'm a bit early, and hear some interesting sounding stuff coming from the other studio, so I quietly walk in.

The instructor/performer stops what he is doing and welcomes me in.  He asks what I play and invites me to grab a bass and join in.  I explain I'm just there to listen for a couple minutes before going to class, so he resumes his piano recital.  There are about a half dozen obviously handicapped and challenged adults gathered around him.  He plays well, just improvising and having fun.

I walk across to the other studio.  There are concert style seats installed on the main floor of this one, facing the old control room.  I take a seat and then spot S.H. nearby, so I go sit by her.  It has been a long time since I've seen her, so we chat and catch up until the instructor shows up.

    Flea Market Chaos

My wife is setting up at an inner city flea market, and I'm supposed to meet her.  The roads are narrow and traffic isn't moving, so I ditch my car and run the couple miles remaining, hoping my car will still be where I left it.  Running is effortless - I'm glad I try to stay in shape.

When I arrive, I find our spot almost completely set up.  A slab of stone is in the way of taking out our remaining stuff, so I pull that out and ask a neighboring vendor if I can lean it up out of the way on their spot.  He agrees, and I do.

After the day is over, we begin cleaning up.  At the end, I try to find that slab of stone, but it is gone.  The neighbor doesn't remember anything about it.  I begin walking about the market and find several things that look like it, but none of them are my stone slab.  I finally give it up as lost.

While walking back, I come across some large logs with smouldering embers blocking the path.  A strong wind gust whips the embers up to flame.  I take a running start and jump over an area of the logs that doesn't seem to be burning so hot.  I feel the heat sear me, but come through unscathed.

    Kwame I. Kilpatrick

(Fragment)  A guy I know has changed his name to Kwame I. Kilpatrick.  He is in legal trouble in Detroit, which makes sense for somebody who has named himself almost the same as our ignoble and infamous criminal mayor.

    Jamming

I am playing bass, filling in for a band I don't know.  Mostly I'm just following along and doing fine.  They decide to do Bowie's "Space Oddity", which I have learned note for note recently.  The group is obviously impressed that I know this one note for note rather than just general chords and grooves.  At the end, when I jump in at the sliding weirdness, the keyboard player looks at me and smiles big.  I am having a treat time.

I remembered this dream when I saw this in the news. I thought you might enjoy this pj.
