I just woke up from sleeping for 27 hours and wondered if this sort of thing is only normal for me or if others do it too.

We are made of such stuff as dreams are made of.

I have never done such a thing. Sleeping even a couple hours too much results in a massive migraine for me. I can't imagine being able to do that!
So how epic was the dreaming?

The dreaming was pretty normal; just more dreams and more time spent in certain dream worlds. My SC also tried harder than usual to make me non-lucid.

You slept for 27 hours? No that is not normal. How sleep deprived were you before you went to sleep?
I sleep a lot, I think. I'll naturally sleep 9 or 10 hours a night and will frequently sleep 12 to 13 hours after sleep dep or just when feeling down. But even after not sleeping for 3 days, I won't sleep for more than 15 hours.

It's not so different from an average night's sleep aside from losing a waking day, feeling like you're only half in your body when you wake up, and feeling gross when you wake up.You slept for 27 hours? No that is not normal. How sleep deprived were you before you went to sleep?
I'd only been up for about 24 hours. Being awake for anything under 30 hours isn't unusual for me.
I usually sleep for four to six hours on weekdays due to homework and classes, and then between eight and eighteen hours on weekends excepting occasions like this when I can sleep from 22 to 33 hours.

I think the longest I ever slept was something between 12-15 hours, and that after being sleep deprived and partying. It was rare, though. I couldn't even imagine sleeping longer than that; it would be torture staying in bed. I get about 4-6 hours usually.

I've only heard of sleeping that long if recovering from something extreme. You must have a comfortable bed. I was going to say when you get older it hurts to stay in bed that long, but it's not so bad with a tempurpedic mattress. (I definitely recommend those.)

I couldn't say I've ever done more than 12-15 hours myself, and that was after being awake for about 30+ hours, or so. I've never slept a whole day before, my dear!

I have never slept a night in my life. Most is about 6 hours and thats after a 280K bike ride. Normal sleep is around 5 to 7 hours in bits. Get good sleep in the first 3 or 4 and thats plenty

That is a lot of sleeping! But during sleep ..[time feels diferent] ..and during dreams ..time doesnt really exist..if it does.. it slows w a y down.. One would notice this in dreams..[about time].. if they were ultra alert during the dream.. In a dream where does time start? And when dream ends ... At what point does time stop? Could give some examples of time slowing way down in dream states.. [similar to OBE state..
