2nd March 2012

Pretty poor recall last night, not sure why. I think I skipped from dream to dream too much.

Fragment: Some evil guy is trying to kill his pet, and someone stabs himself in the arm with a needle to try and draw blood or something. He then sets fire to the bad guys ear, and I spray an aerosol can to light it up. We save whatever the pet was.

Fragment: Playing basketball, as I leave the changing room I realise I'm completely naked on the lower half of my body. I go back to put shorts on but can only find my underwear so decide that will do. As we get to the sports hall it is full of schoolchildren and scouts singing some sort of song, we are waiting for them to leave so we can play basketball.

Fragment: I'm in my current town with some old friends M and D. We are getting ready to go out, I think we have just come from the basketball class or something.

Fragment: I'm trying out for an american football team. Everyone, including the coach, seems to be picking on one guy. I'm glad it's not me. We get on a bus to go somewhere, probably to play away.

Fragment: At some point in the night I found my pet lying in the snow. I can't remember if it was a dog or a bear, but it was either a Husky Dog, or Panda/Polar bear. I run over to him and cuddle his face with my hands, but I'm wearing gloves and he doesn't seem to like that. I must remember to take my gloves off in future. I recognise this animal from previous dreams, and I'm pretty sure he's a dream pet. I'll look out for him in the future.

3rd March 2012

I am heading home to some tower block that I apparently live in after committing a crime in the city. I'm not sure what i've done or where I am but I know the police are after me. I hear sirens whilst waiting for the lift, but it arrives just in time and I jump in. I hit the number 3 as I must live on the third floor. The next day I get up and go to work, which is again up an elevator in either the same tower block or a different one (I think different). When I get there, Jeff and Lester (from "Chuck") are with someone, and they are telling him to cry. It reminds me of fight club, where Bob is telling the main character to just cry and let it out. Anyway enough references, when I leave work I am once again about to get in the elevator when sirens sound. I get in just in time, but there is someone in the lift this time. There is a black lady in the lift and I am concerned that she sees me panicking about the police car.

She says to me "Were you around last night?". I decide it's best to lie so I say I wasn't. She then starts speaking a different language, and after a blank expression from me she says something like "my English no good". However, she then goes on to say in perfect English that there were riots last night...maybe I caused them? As the lift is going up I notice some blood patches on the walls and floor, I hope I'm not responsible for those either. I get off at floor 3 and she stays in the lift as she was going to floor 5. The dream ends.

After waking up and falling asleep again, I find myself in some bizarre movie scene. The bad guy is a big ginger guy, and he has killed everyone except another bad guy. He shoots the other one in the leg, to prove his "commitment" and then walks off. Suddenly I become the guy who got shot, and I'm aware that there is someone in the building trying to catch me, I guess a cop. I head to the elevator (d'oh) to try and get to the ground floor and get out of this building. I move slowly because of my leg and leave a trail of blood behind. The lift starts going down and something makes me think the guy who is chasing me has I knife. The lift doors open, and I step out. I find myself in another lift. Something's not right. I am dreaming. In the new lift I see my actual body, holding I knife. I panic and wish for a new scene.

The dream goes black and I worry that I might have lost my lucid. However I see black and white shapes emerging, they look like newspaper. I can make out words although I don't know what they say. Suddenly I find myself in a scene. I'm in a very dark room, which I believe is a hotel room. Maybe it's my room from the first dream? It's so dark I can hardly see anything. I remember that I haven't stabilized the dream yet, so I start feeling the walls. They all feel the same, very bland and paper-like. I don't think this is working so I look at my hands. And dear god that's a lot of fingers! There must have been at least 7 fingers on each hand. Each unique and twisted in it's own way. I also saw large black dots (like you see on old movie reels) appear in front of some fingers. I think about how I can get the lights on, as this room is very very dark. I try just willing them on, but nothing happens. I then stumble around for a light switch but there is clutter everywhere. The last thing I can think of is to clap. I try clapping, but nothing happens. It does feel awfully weird though, there was no stinging feeling yet I felt my hands meet. I clapped a few more times for fun and to keep trying for the lights but the dream ended.

Fragment: I am talking to my cousin about girls, and he tells me his girlfriend left him. He says it was because she said "No" but he was drunk and carried on with things. He then bursts into tears. I hope this isn't relevant to anything

Fragment: I'm with a girl after some sort of award ceremony. I won something which allows me to choose to cut the salary of one of my teachers (I guess I'm back at school). I know exactly who I want to punish with this, but there is some sort of scandal and I don't get my award. She then starts playing with oddly shaped acorns, I'll draw them if I get a chance. She starts burning the stalks and twisting them round and playing with them, it's all very interesting.

Hurray, lucid! Not much else to comment, maybe I should work on what I want to do in LD's now, as I seem to have got the hang of becoming lucid

Nice work!
The old "lucid in an dreamspace where not much seems to be happening" dilemma.

I'm interested to see where you go with it and I hope you have some full, amazing lucids where this problem never arises

4th March 2012

Terrible night of recall, I believe it's due to stress.

Fragment: I was in trouble again for something, who knows what I had done.

Fragment: Something about writing Java code

Sorry for the completely boring and pointless post, but by writing my failures in my DJ it encourages me to try harder

5th March 2012

I'm afraid not much more happened last night. I have had a busy weekend trying to finish working on my assignment (for anyone who's ever done programming you probably sympathize with me).

All I can remember from last night is:

I feel like I'm watching some sort of wildlife program, except I'm actually there. A golden eagle is mocking an ostrich, by standing in front of it and moving behind it's neck whenever the ostrich pecks forward (so as to hide behind it's field of vision). I then suddenly become the eagle. I start flying round attempting to catch other birds and small mammals in my claws, it's a lot harder than it looks! I did not become lucid but I had a lot of fun.

Fragment: I am at home with a girl who I appear to be dating. She is about two years older than me (I just know somehow) and my sister is telling my Mum that she is too old for me. I get really angry and throw a cup on the floor. For some reason this has REALLY irritated me. Probably because she has dated people way older, and also because it seems ridiculous she would tell on me for such a small age gap. Hehe, I guess the smallest things wind us up in dreams :chuckle:

If i'm not back to my normal excellent recall tonight (celebration drinks for end of assignment), then I certainly will be tomorrow night. So expect some interesting dreams and hopefully lucids some time soon :)

6th March 2012
Fragment: I see two floating heads flying around. Instead of a body they have what appears to be a small lightning bolt attached to them. I think it was some sort of TV show or game show or film...Not sure, i'll try and remember what was going on

Later on I am with my friend M and we are going shopping. We head to Iceland (a supermarket) and get some stuff. As we are leaving I tell him that we should go halfs on ice creams, as it is a nice day. He agrees, and we decide we need a trolley now as we can't carry all of our things. We go outside to get a trolley and they are they type you must put a pound into. M has a trolley token so we use that instead. Meanwhile I am actually inside as well (weird) and looking at the ice creams. I am able to talk to M even though he is outside and I ask him what his preference is. He says to get toffee crisp ice cream and wafers or something.

I get confused so I wait for M to get back. He points out this ice cream that I have never seen before. He also says the wafers are specifically designed to vary in "soggyness". It looks pretty cool, I can't wait to go outside and eat it. The dream ends.

The wafers looked kind of like this from the side:

I promised you better recall and here it is :)

7th March 2012

I am lying on my bed completely naked, when suddenly I notice someone is watching me. I look over and see someone I barely know from university, DH. I say "Oh, I forgot I had a roommate, sorry I'm not used to this" so I climb into bed to cover myself up. He says it's no problem, although I still find it weird that he was looking. Although we are roommates, further on in this giant bedroom there is 2 more guys as well, so it's kind of 2 and 2.

Time skips forward a bit and it's 6am. I look over and DH is still awake, playing games, while I am on my laptop. I think to myself he's a pretty cool guy, especially as he isn't disturbing me as he has headphones on. I think I won't mind being roommates with him from now on. I haven't met or spoken to the other 2 guys yet.

I then skip out of that dream, which we will later return to, to a scene where I am worried about a job interview. My Mum is telling me I missed my interview, and I feel terrible as I must have let down whatever company this is badly. There was some exact dates given, my interview was supposed to be at 10:10 on the 10th of March (I know right >.>) but it's currently about 3-5pm on the 10th of March. I am panicking and worrying about what to do when the dream ends.

I am not dreaming but I am asleep, when my brain starts to think about what happened. Did I really miss my interview? Did I even have an interview? Wait a minute isn't it the 5th of March? Ok so it's not, but I realised that it's definately not the 10th yet either. I could see nothing, but knew it was a dream. Suddenly my vision went white, all I could see was whiteness. I tried to picture heaven, to see if I could meet people there for the monthly meeting place. However a different image started to form. I saw a wolf, first of all standing still and then it started to run. It became clearer and clearer. I then imagined myself to become the wolf and I did. I was running along some grass, I could feel all 4 of my legs kicking but I still couldn't see anything except the grass I was standing on. Either the dream ended or I lost lucidity and recall no more.

I return to my previous dream and I am in some sort of pub with the same guys. We are faffing around with stools, as they all appear to be different sizes, which makes sitting around the table very awkward. I remember this pub was showing some sort of "Live SkyTV super clock" on the television, I'm not sure what a super clock was but it appeared to show a normal time. There was also some freezers, with a lot of ice cream in them, but we were not interested in the ice cream. I remember I have to go and meet someone so I tell my friends I will be back in a bit.

Fragment: I have a fragment here of travelling across the country by bus and train. I believe I miss the last train somewhere so I have to run to the next town, meanwhile a new bus stop is constructed where I just left (in the style of Transport Tycoon). I believe I was probably the girl in the next paragraph for this dream.

Suddenly I am at a train station meeting a girl I don't recognise off the train. We chat for a bit before heading back to the house/pub. As I turn a corner I bump into someone. They drop their cigarettes and I drop mine (I don't smoke IWL). There is some confusion as we sort out who's is who's and then we carry on walking home. I make a note that I should really quit smoking, as I didn't really get cravings and now was as good a time as any. We then see a horrifying sight. The witch from left 4 dead is standing in the middle of the road to where we are going. I tell the girl not to go near it but she seems to be in a trance and walks straight over. The music plays and the witch cries just like in the game (which in hindsight I find pretty cool) and then she gets up and kills my friend. She then starts to run around like crazy so I run off. She begins chasing me, so I hide by jumping over a ledge and hanging on to a fence on the other side.

The witch gets as close to me as she can but does not cross the fence. I see an asian man called Bob or Rob or something and I say "Thank god, Rob will help me". He comes over and stops for a minute as he tries to work out how he can help. I tell him to hit the witch in the head and she'll fall to the ground. He hesitates but he does it and rescues me. I end up taking Rob back to the pub instead of the girl.

Once I'm back in the pub, everyone is now eating the free ice cream. I chose a really cheap and horrible flavour but everyone else is eating the fancy Ben & Jerry's. After I finish I go and get another tub, this time finding a nice one like everyone else has (I mean...it's free after all right?). One of my friends (black haired guy from socials) scalds me and says I am greedy. I feel kind of bad, but I didn't want everyone to steal all the nice flavours without me taking one either. The dream ends.

Much better recall!

And that little lucid was really fascinating.  Seems like you entered The Void and then something really interesting happened.

Next time you find yourself in a void of any kind, try just clearing your mind and seeing what happens rather than trying to push it in any specific direction.
What truly matters is not built of right and wrong; but of grace, and of love.

Oh of course! I didn't even think about the void, you could be right on that one. I'll bear it in mind for the future :)

Hey Bluebird.. Thanks for the heads up. Always happy to review a lucid and offer some thoughts. Don't always find the interesting ones on my own.

Yes, this was the void. Generally speaking, the void is basically a scene reset. You lose visuals, and either wake, or perhaps a new scene manifests. The real trick is to let your dreamspace determine the new scene. I would start there. Just relax and let the new scene unfold.

You can induce the void (perhaps) by walking into a wall, falling into a hole in the ground, stuff like that very often creates this effect.

From a deeper perspective, this notion of the void is associated with what some refer to as "the void of the mystics" which is basically believed to be a state of consciousness that is primordial. Very unrefined and full of potential. I find that interesting  :)
