Costly Dreams
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:18:04 AM »
Hi Guys,

Already introduced myself here http://mortalmist.com/forum/index.php/topic,5191.0.html

I will keep you all up to date with what is going on in my dream world!

Yours,

-Costly

P.S. This morning I woke up feeling pride.  I remember nothing, but the fact that I had a dream about an eating contest and a DC.  I will tell you all a secret: I think I won  ;)

I'll welcome you here in your journal.  I'm glad you're here, and looking forward to your adventures!

March 17th

Stayed up until 5 am playing madden 11 with some buddies. Very little dream recall.
Fragment: Peyton Manning signing multiple contracts.
Don't know what it means, but probably something to do with 7 hours of madden before sleep

Feeling like a retard is just the price we pay.  Well, part of the price; there are other costs, as your name reflects.   ;)  (I know what you mean; my BF knows what I'm doing when he sees me doing it, and he actually makes retard-faces at me, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue and trying to hit his finger with his palm, but missing.  Also making, "duhh" noises at the same time.   :?)

My flatmate knows about my dreaming and he keeps telling me it's a dream when we are in real life >.< I hope this passes through to my SC cause it's really annoying in real life.

And Costly, yeah you will notice that anything you do different or for a long period of time before sleeping will almost always be reflected in your dream. For me it is minecraft, and more lately swimming is starting to creep back. This is a good thing though, because you will be more alert and ready for it next time (just remember to RC if something weird happens on madden next time ;))

March 18th:

No recall.  :banghead:

Went out for St. Patricks Day.  At least I remember what I did IWL, which is an achievement on its own.

March 19th

I was hesitant at first to call this a full dream, since its more like a series of fragments that when put together make a little sense, but as I was writing this more and more detail came back to fill in the gaps between the fragments.

Title: The Island

Setting takes place on a similar island that the tv show Lost.  I am trying to escape with a number of other survivors and we are burying zombie bodies.  All of a sudden a zombie wakes up and bites me. At first I am scared, but then for some reason the importance of this bite goes away and shifts towards that zombie also biting a cat (i recently bought a cat IWL).  I am scared because even though we somehow put the zombie down the cat is still on the loose out there and can bite us at night when we are sleeping.  There is a DC that has a gun and she doesn't trust me with it.  I convince her by showing a pocket religious icon that she gave me earlier and saying that I am trustworthy, she gives me a gun with 2 bullets.  I convince her after a while to give me more. The gun looks something like this:

As I am loading the gun for some reason I am putting debris as well as bullets.  I feel panic as the cat is approaching.  I don't remember if I shot the cat or what.  I either woke up or just simply cant remember any more.

Analysis:  I notice a recurring theme: I am stuck in a confined environment and trying to escape.  I've had dreams before where I am either at a prison or something of that sort.  Its different, but similar to bluebird's theme of running away.

Objects/themes that should trigger reality check:
*Gun
*Trying to escape
*Zombies

I don't have time to read this yet, so note to self to check it out later :)

Looks like good recall though, well done!

No worries.  I was literally brushing my teeth and thinking how I will once again write "no recall" in the journal as it all came back to me.

You'll notice that recall becomes easier the more "little" details you remember, as once you start recalling parts of your dream your brain will slowly remember what was around that part, both before and after. I have found recall to be very easy if I can think about it straight away as I wake up, so try remembering what just happens as soon as you wake.

This looks promising so far :) let that be the first dream of many that will shortly bring you to lucidity

March 20th - First day of spring.

No recall.  I will look into supplements to help recall.   A little vitamin cant hurt.
