We can change your username, but it is an administrative function and requires a password reset.

Yes, there is a way to save your entire journal.  It is downloaded in HTML format, with no options.  (It is a function a prior and no longer active technical wizard wrote for us.)  Just go to Profile, then click Download Dream Journal, then save the file somewhere.  You can view it in any browser.

Can I request a name change then please? Who should I ask?

Thank you, now I can save my old DJ!

Okay dreamers I have a question for you: do any of you have any tips for falling asleep? I've had two nights now where I literally did not fall asleep! No sleep = no dreams = NOT GOOD! I bet it's this freaking med they have me on...

PS: YAY! NEW USERNAME!

Hello there, MeltingCORE!

I have several suggestions.  First is physical activity.  When I am very involved physically, I sleep wonderfully.  Second is learning basic mind clearing meditation.  Even when I am having trouble falling asleep, (which for me is fortunately rarely,) I can clear my mind and meditate myself to sleep in short order.  Learning to quiet my noisy mind was not an easy thing. . . but for me it was SO worth it.  It changed my life.

Finally, there are the usual supplements.  I use L-theanine and melatonin on occasion.

That's all I have to offer!

First, Yeah! on new name!
I have read, and experienced standing on one leg until it is very tired, then the other for same effect - this is supposed to help you sleep better, but that is if you can get to sleep.  (And I should remember that as have had problems getting back to sleep recently :comeandgetsome:)
Agree with pj.  Also, tensing up toes, letting them relax, and slowly work up your body, doing the same with each muscle group helps the body relax as well.
Going to bed at the same time (routine), not being in front of a computer for a while just before going bed, no caffeine if it bothers you after a certain time of day, good diet, ultimately taking care of yourself.  Good luck, hope some of that helps!  (Now, to listen to my own advice ::))

I'm not one for physical activity hehe. But I could always try going for a walk. I've been trying to mediate. Sometimes it's a bit hard for me because I like to think about physics and similar topics before I go to sleep. I'm thinking about getting some melatonin because I'm still having sleep issues. I'm going to talk to my p-doc about it. Thanks for the help!

I might try the leg and muscle ideas. I do go to bed at around the same time each night. I stopped using the computer and caffeine before I go to bed. That helped a little, I think. Thanks for the tips!

Are you into astronomy?

Wow.

I'm the rankest of amateur astronomy enthusiasts.  Almost what you would call an armchair astronomer, but I do get out under the stars whenever I can.

At least you appreciate the beauty of the stars. I wish I could see more stars where I live, but light pollution blots a lot of them out.

Why are you being chased? What would happen if you flew into a neutron star, anyway?

And after you answer Vexxie's questions. . . did you know Brian May, Queen's guitarist, is a PhD astrophysicist?

People just like chasing me in my dreams lol. You would disintegrate before you got anywhere near it.

I didn't know but that is completely badass! I love people like that. They show that a person can be artsy and scientific. Something that I hope to be. That's why I look up to Leonardo da Vinci.

Is there such a thing as magnet conventions?  If not, there should be!
