Right so I know this topic is kinda old (the last post is approaching it's first birthday!) but I found the dreams absolutely fascinating, and I'm wondering if you're making any more progress towards your LOTR goal.

The whole time I've been reading these dreams though I feel as if I already know what will happen in the end... :sherlock:

Hi ya. Thanks for the read. I did make progress. I'd meant to update this thread on several occasions but didn't update due to either busy-ness or outright laziness. I really should update it to the end. Maybe I'll do that today, got no plans for the afternoon.

Yeah, once I close up this thread I can start on a new journey. That's what my dreams are lacking lately too, a goal for me to maniacally obsess over.

Non Lucid: Bagshot Row
April 13 2013

Move to a house that  later find out is right next to Bagshot Row. The name sounds familiar but it takes a while of unpacking before my memory lets me make  a connection. We're living next to 'The Hill.' I tell this to F and K. They don't care. They're mostly concerned with the pool/pond out back. I tell them I am going to look for Bilbo. F tells me he is gone, moved away. I refuse to believe him and trudge up the hill. I knock on the door but there is no answer. I call into windows but no one replies. He IS gone. I jog down the road, trying to remember the way to Rivendell That's where he'll be.

Non Lucid: Getting There First
April 21st 2013

I am asking random people on the street for directions to Orodruin. I intend to make it there before Frodo does, ambush him, take his precious and shove his ring bearing ass into the lava. But alas, no one knows the way.

I was reading a few dreams back on this thread and thought it interesting that you did get a ring in one. But it was too small. I think perhaps your SC was telling you "ok here's the Ring but it's too small a thing to pursue". There's a lot of profound things in dreams and maybe your SC wants to show you some rather than roleplay Sauron. :P
Very cool journey nonetheless.   :gladiator:

Non Lucid: Wizardly Advice
May 5th 2014

I am up late reading in the living room. I think I'm reading Poe but not 100% sure. At some point the dream changes to me reading outside under a tree in the dark. The moonlight is bright enough that I can read by it. Someone approaches. It's a wizardly looking guy. He sits beside me and asks why I am still awake. I tell him I don't sleep much anymore. I don't mind. It gives me time to indulge in the things I can't do during the day. The guy is quiet and lets me read.

I read a line out loud from the book because it doesn't belong. It is something about Bilbo telling Frodo that the road in front of his house is the most dangerous road of all... it leads straight through to the lonely mountain. "That's true." the guy beside me says, "You should sleep sometime and walk that road. It might take you where you need to go." I close my book and look at the guy. "You want me to go straight into danger?" He laughs at me and I feel like a little kid again, the way I'd feel when my grandmother would laugh at the 'strange and wonderful' things I would sometimes say. "No," Says this man, "But it's a long road. You may find useful things along the way."

I open my book to read again. The guy reaches over and takes it from me. "You need to sleep. How will you get anywhere if you don't sleep?" This makes sense to me so I agree with him. And suddenly I think I know who this guy is. I really look at him. "Are you a wizard?" I ask, thinking he will say yes. He only replies, "Only as much of a wizard as you are." "That doesn't answer my question," I say and then ask, "Am I dreaming?" The guy laughs as if I've told some hilarious joke,"You have to sleep to dream." Like an idiot I say, "Yeah. That's true. I should sleep." I lay down on my back at the base of the tree and stare up at the night sky through bare tree branches. The guy starts reading to me, as if I am a child he is trying to read to sleep. It works.

Yeah. I got that message too but I'm either too stupid or stubborn to do to the smart thing and listen. There is another dream where I threw a bunch of rings away, knowing they're all useless.

LOL

I think the Wizardly Advice one was sweet. Sounds peaceful.

Yeah, the wizardly one was nice. I wish he'd show up more often and read me to sleep.

Non Lucid: Virtual Ring
May 7th 2013

I am watching my nephew play Lord of the Rings Online. Suddenly we are in the game. He controls his orc via controller. I ask him for a controller and how to make a character. "Just say a name and press the right button 3 times," he answers. Since I haven't gotten a hold of Frodo yet in a dream I will nab him in this game. "Frodo." I press the button three times. A digital version Frodo appears before me. I make him walk to me and then try to snatch the ring from his chest. I can't. "He's a hologram. You can't touch him," My nephew scolds. "Only other characters can." He demonstrates by making his orc run up and punch Frodo in the head." I laugh for a couple of seconds but then get an idea. I ask my nephew to use his orc to remove the ring from Frodo. He does. The ring dangles at the end of a chain from the orc's hand. I toss aside my controller and very carefully insert my pointer finger into the center of the holographic ring. Nothing happens. It's not real. It's a hologram. I swat at the ring. Nothing happens again. The sudden onset of frustration wakes me.

I fall back to sleep and try, try again.

LD: The Dream Dial & a Baggins Nabbed-ish (not quite sure if this would be a WILD or DILD)
May 7th 2013

I close my eyes and before me HI wavers. It forms into a large circle that suddenly becomes a dial. The numbers on it go from 0 - Dreaming. I see the word dreaming and realize that I am almost there. I watch the pointer tick quickly toward Dreaming. Once it hits the word I 'wake up' in bed. I sit up and bite my finger to be sure. No pain.

DREAMING FOR SURE!

The dream feels very weak, like there is not much more to it than the bed upon which I sit and the darkness which surrounds me. I know that there was a specific reason I was trying to get lucid but it has slipped my mind. Instead of wasting precious time trying to remember my intentions I simply ask the dream, "Will you give me what I came here for?"

I'm so startled by a sudden movement on the bed beside me that I nearly lose the dream. I sit very still and rub my hands along the covers on the bed to stabilize. It comes back together and for a couple of moments I am afraid to move. I don't want to move too soon and wake. Very slowly I look to the right of me on the bed. Though there is not much light I can clearly make out Frodo laying there. He is the Elijah Wood version. I then remember why I'd wanted to be lucid. Very slowly I maneuver myself onto my hands and knees to hover over top of Frodo. He doesn't wake. I hook my finger into the top of his shirt and try to peek down it for the ring. Nothing is there! Angry, I sit atop Frodo and slap him across the face. He wakes up and tries to escape. He nearly overpowers me but I pin him down and hold him still by his neck. It is then that I realize that he is actually bigger than me. I am lucky that he didn't overpower me.

"Where's the ring?" I growl. I'm so angry it feels as if I'll spontaneously combust at any moment. He says nothing. I let go of his throat and rip his shirt open. "It's supposed to be here! Where the hell is it?"

"Find it." He says and then just lays there like he's enjoying it all.

"God damned dream characters. Why do you always do this! Why don't you just cooperate! FOR ONCE!"

I wake myself up with that. And also, I was so pissed off upon waking that I laid there and threw a tantrum like a little kid. I was so damned close!!!

Non Lucid: A Party With Wilfred
May 29

I am on a balcony at a party and don't know anyone. I am about to leave when I see Wilfred and Ryan arrive on the lawn below. Wilfred makes his rounds and when he looks up he waves and runs up the stairs to me. He thrusts Bear at me to hold. Disgusted, I don't grab him and Bear falls from balcony to the lawn below. Wilfred freaks out and pushes people out of the way left and right while he runs down the stairs. I run after him, apologizing. Bear is fine. The three of us meander through the crowd, Wilfred keeps mentioning I should go say hi to Ryan. I keep declining.

We end up indoors at Wilfred's place. He brings to me a skanky looking little outfit that he wants me to put on bear for him. I don't want to touch bear. I ask Wilfred what I'll get out of this. He tells me he'll hook up me and Ryan, that Ryan's the one I've been looking for. I decline. I don't want anything to do with him. Wilfred mentions me being a photographer and pitches the idea that I can have an exclusive photo shoot with he and Bear if only I'll put the dress on Bear first. Kind of gross but intriguing, I agree. I put the dress on bear. "Don't forget to pop the nipples out!" Wilfred tells me. The shirt had fake stuffed boobs and the nipples have to be manually popped out. I do this and finish dressing Bear and Wilfred is deliriously happy.

Ryan walks in with a girl. He is shocked to see me and Wilfred there. "Don't mind us. Photoshoot," I say as I show him my camera. Wilfred excitedly tells Ryan that I'm going to make  him and Bear famous. The three of us move into another room and I begin the shoot, with Wilfred doing all sorts of disgustingly pervy things to Bear. Throughout the shoot he keeps subtly hinting that I join in. At one point Ryan is behind me. He urges me to join, he'll take the photos. I tell HIM to join and I'LL take the photos. We argue until Wilfred says, "Put it on video and you both can join in!" I switch off my camera and while I'm amused by the suggestion I am not about to jump into an orgy with a guy, a dog and a stuffed animal. Jokingly, I tell Wilfred, "Maybe next time." I pack up my camera and leave.

Ryan follows behind me and asks me to stay. I tell him that sex is not my idea of a good time. He asks, "Well...what is you idea of a good time?" I stop and think about this. I admit that I don't know anymore. Ryan tells me to think about it and when I come up with something I enjoy to give him a ring and we can hang out together sometime. I grudgingly answer, "Sure," and then leave for home, anxious to see if I got any good shots of Wilfred.

Sneaky how Ryan manages to mention ring in our conversation, almost like he's daring me to remember or get to lucid, and I still don't manage to RC.
