The Recall Compilation Thread
« on: July 18, 2013, 12:04:34 AM »
I was chatting with a friend (and potential future MM member) the other day about recall and how to strengthen it / start remembering more and more of your dreams. So I thought,my MM friends must have their own tricks that work for them, let's pile them into a thread!

So... what tricks do you have up your sleeves?

For me... if my recall is really, really bad, and I wake up remembering nothing, I start with feeling. Am I sad, happy? Can I think of why? If that's all I can remember is a feeling, then that is my journal entry. If I can get a scene... a room, a color... that's en entry. I might remember what happened in that room or what sparked that feeling.

If my recall is hazy, I run through a list of possible dream signs, typical dream plots. Sometimes that sparks a memory.

If I can remember the last scene before waking up, then I start writing notes backwards. I try to remember the dream in reverse, going as far as I can go. I can make sense of it in my official post, later.
What would you do if you were dreaming right now?

Meditation usually helps me if I don't have recall upon waking.  That is, if I get a chance to meditate, as that means I have to wake prior to my 6am alarm, or hubby's 5:30am alarm on days he is working.

  • We are made of such stuff as dreams are made of.

My recall is so poor lately.  I'm looking forward to learning from this thread.
What truly matters is not built of right and wrong; but of grace, and of love.
