Hello everyone on the Mortal Mist, I'm new here on the site and I'm excited to start my dream journal. This dream actually woke me up two hours after I went to sleep, and has taken me four hours to write down properly, fix all my mistakes, remember everything and so on, so I hope you find it interesting.
The dream begins during a strange party on some kind of moving vehicle. I never viewed the vehicle from the side, nor did I look out the windows, but I did step outside on one occasion.
I was there with my roommate, my family, and many people I didn't recognize. This vehicle this party was taking place in had an area with train style seats, and a kitchen area with white tile floors, a wooden counter top and a white fridge, but strangely no drivers seat. I began walking towards my roommate in the kitchen area, but began to notice several large unopened bottles of water, vodka and other colorless or translucent liquids. On the bottoms of the bottles, I noticed there were specially crafted holes, which smaller one to two inch bottles of alcoholic drinks fit into like slots. Once inside, the smaller bottles were perfectly visible within the liquid inside the larger bottle. I began to feel suspicious, as if something wasn't right, when I was interrupted by my mother, who asks me to join the rest of the party. "I know you and your Roommate are both DMs, but you should talk to the rest of your family!" Annoyed, I replied "Seriously, get lost. I'm busy right now."
Shortly after this, we stepped outside into a bizarre forest. Though the sky was dark and starry, the ground was in some places perfectly illuminated as if it were day, and in other places unnaturally dark, even for nighttime. After stepping out, I saw a bizarre insect with a strange protrusion coming out of its back. The insect itself was an all consuming darkness so black as for its shape to be indeterminable. Its protrusion looked like an assortment of glowing, rainbow colored dots, arranged into the shape of five hollow hexagons fitted together onto a single flat plane. It was dark, and the image summoned thoughts of glow sticks and lights at a ravers club, but the colors were more solid like LED's. The insect then began to consume its own protrusion from its back, after which it disappeared.
After the party, I suddenly found myself walking down a street I often walk down towards a mall. This mall had a massive glass overhang which loomed proudly over the parking lot, and I found myself thinking about my last job, and feeling guilty for losing it even if it wasn't my fault.
The next images I see are from the angle of a camera, set on a woman laying lazily in a directors chair, speaking about a movie as if she were in the special features of a movie, or perhaps if she was part of some extended promo. She spoke saying, "The first one actually turns out to be a goon!" I then saw an image, again, as if from a camera angle, of a strange green creature with a long, transparent, tube like emerald green body with stalk, snail like eyes, feet like a water bear and its backside ending in two bulb shape protrusions. In a scene similar to a jump cut, I then saw a man appear in a green suit and hat running in front of a yellow house.
The next thing i remember is a very strange blur. I could feel myself wandering without a sense of direction, or any awareness of my surroundings. I could feel my head hanging as my body shambled forward and my vision darkened.
After a while, I began to feel a tight hug around me, and I turned my head. I now realized I was on the floor of the back seat of a car, and a man in a police officers uniform was holding me tightly. He did not appear aggressive or angry. He was friendly, and spoke in a soft voice, though I could not make out what he said. Yet behind him was another man in a cacky colored shirt, with sand colored hair. His face was young, but his eyes were strange, oddly elongated. Though normally there would never have been enough room in one car seat for three grown men, somehow the officer who held me on the floor sat between his legs on the seat. I looked down, again becoming unaware of my surroundings, before realizing I had just exited the car.
In front of me was a flat, sand colored stone wall, toward the left ahead of me was a path that looked like it had originally been barred off, but several of the central bars had been removed to allow passage. To the right of me was a pile of rubble, piles of bent up steel reinforcement inside grey brown stone and brick. A man stood there by the rubble, and as I approached him he appeared to have some kind of mild to severe mental disability. He reminded me very strongly of a former coworker in his expressions, but I couldn't make out his face clearly, and we never once spoke. There was a simple understanding between me and this individual that we were happy to see each other. I knew this person was friendly.
I passed him, continuing forward toward a right turn, which turned into a hallway with cells on either side. Venturing into one of the cells, I saw that while the stone walls and floors were indeed industrial at best, and infarct resembled a ruined prison, inside the cells were the most luxurious beds I had ever seen. The blankets and pillows were covered in beautiful furs, ranging from red and browns, to grey blues. The beds were all wood crafted bunk beds, many of them crafted in interesting ways. One in particular had two beds running along perpendicular walls, with the heads of each bed supporting a diagonal bed. Yet another bed was shaped like a quarter of a circle, tucked in to the corner. This bed was enormous, and supported a similarly shaped bed above. Long fur blankets drooped down from the top bunks creating a cozy tent like effect for those sleeping inside.
I found a spot for myself, with no one else around, and I laid down my head. I realized then I was in a seat at a fold-up table, and across from me, at a slightly raised table atop a podium with a white cover draping over the edges, were several human-like beings. They looked almost entirely human, except for their eyes. Their eyes at first were sideways ovals, with vertically oriented red diamond shaped irises. Some of them only had two eyes, others had four or six. Their eyes began to shift into strange shapes, from strange circular eyes, to eyes that resembled blurry CG "anime eyes."
There were at least five of them, and they stared at me intensely as they shifted their eyes into various forms, before returning their eyes to a normal human shape. They surrounded me as I stood up, and I felt a strange comfortable feeling as we smiled and walked. The officer appeared as well, and told me, "This is a voluntary prison program. You can come and go as you please, and can sleep here. This place is an alternative for people like you who have committed crimes."
The atmosphere was very friendly, but I exited through the hallway, and through a barred door. Outside the door was a long hall that ended in darkness, and so I returned to bed. As I returned I saw several faces of people, and of strange humanoid beings peeking out from beneath the drooping furs. One was blue with spikes, another hot pink and fleshy. I stared for sometime before moving on.
As I lay comfortably in my spot on the large bed, several of the strange beings with shape-shifting eyes begin to speak to one another, their eyes shifting between normal human eyes and large circular ones as they speak. "Why isn't he happy yet? He should be happy by now!" Another spoke to me saying, "We just want you to be happy." At that moment, their faces began secreting a viscous clear liquid. I reached out and touched their faces, which they did not seem to mind. It stuck to my hand, and it almost looked as if they were profusely sweating. It was at precisely this moment that I became afraid, but after getting out of bed, the officer returned and told me "I really want you to stay." He put his hand on my chest, gently pushing me back into bed. And so I stayed.
Following the last encounter with the beings, everything becomes blurry, and I begin to feel that I have been guided around with friends by these strange beings. I have vague images of laughter, of being part of a group, of happiness and of being lead by these creatures. As I slowly become more lucid, however, I wake up in bed with the terrible suspicious that we are somehow being controlled.
A short while later, ten feet away from me on the same bed, I see my mother. I then had an immediate sense of urgency, and I wanted desperately to tell her that something was wrong, but I feared who might be listening. "Hey, we should go" I said. She asks why, and I tell her , "Come on, let's go."
We get up and leave, but at the door we are greeted by several of the strange humanoids. Their eyes shifting as he speaks, the man from the car appears and says, "Come, stay!" Scarred, I yell with a sarcastic and accusing tone in my voice, "Why? Don't I have a choice? This is OPTIONAL! I can leave anytime I want! That's the law, right?"
Immediately the strange beings became amorphous, flesh colored silhouettes, but their eyes were clearly visible. Their eyes had become narrow, sideways diamond shaped slits, with tiny black dots staring at me. None of them were distinguishable from one another at this point, save for their height. Terrified, I froze as one spoke, "That was too watchy!"
I grabbed my mother and ran. As we turned, the world around us changed to the hall of the house my family built over a hundred and twenty years ago. We turned left, I opened the window, and we climbed onto the roof. Finally, on the roof, with nowhere to go and no idea how I was going to get away from these things, My body froze and I woke up.
