Nightmare: I remember I was in sort of a high-class loft apartment and I'd been there a while. I can barely remember walking around the rooms, but I don't know what I was doing. I think I was stressed out about something. Nobody else was in the apartment I think. Then someone was at the door and I saw that it was my ex boyfriend. I was a little rattled to see him there out of the blue, but I didn't want to just shut the door on his face. He invited me downstairs and so we went down and ended up in sort of a big department store. He was a little drunk I think, because he was acting very strange. Then he started to look for clothes for himself, taking a really long time to try things on. I thought it was so bizarre because he always hated clothes shopping before and would wear nothing but plain jeans and T-shirts.
I started to pick some stuff up too; I figured I might as well shop for myself while I was waiting. I went over to the dressing room, and there were two guys in front of me, both very very tall. One of them had his elbow in my face because he was leaning on the wall, and I shifted away from him in annoyance. When he saw this, he started to get angry, saying I wouldn't move away from him if he was the pretty white guy, pointing to the man in front of him. I was sort of offended that he was basically accusing me of being racist. I wanted to tell him that first of all, he was barely black in the first place...he was hardly even darker than myself. Sheesh. I refrained from being bitchy though, saying that it was just because his elbow was in my face and we ended up chatting for a couple of minutes which seemed to make the other guy uncomfortable with the whole situation. After that I saw my ex come out of the dressing room, saying it was time to go. Then he said something, a couple of sentences, in a language totally foreign to me. I wondered if it was Tagalog, but I was confused because he always refused to speak his native tongue to me while we were dating. I followed him, still holding a pile of clothes.
He said he was going to go home now, and I told him I worried about him because I didn't want him to drive home if he was drunk. He said he would take the train in that case, and so I insisted on walking him there to make sure he would be okay. I left the clothes on a rack and we went out of the store, suddenly going through a sort of underground tunnel that reminded me of a subway system. I was confused, looking around for the train. We ended up standing in front of an arched doorway which was made of what seemed to be white and creme marble, covered in ornate patterns.
We went through, and came into a small room with a similar doorway on the other side. The room was empty, except for a bizarre dog-like creature, which seemed to have come right out of one of the carvings. It was like a cross between a sculpture and a skeleton dog. It jumped and snapped at us, but it wouldn't touch us so I wasn't very afraid. Before my ex opened the second door, I noticed that on it was a very voluptuous woman on it. When we went through, I saw her in the next room, naked and dancing wildly, generally ignoring us. Like the dog, she looked exactly like a living statue.
I was starting to get pretty creeped out by this place, and I noticed how nonchalant my ex was, so I started to get wise and I told him to go through the next door himself. Instead, he opened it so wide that he hid behind it and the creature beyond could look directly at me. I mentally cursed my ex and stepped into the final room, having nowhere else to go now. The man sat in a chair made of what looked like human bones, his legs crossed. Unlike the woman, he seemed to be wearing clothes; creme robes which matched the marble. He smiled, but there was something off about the way he looked too. I tried very hard to remember after I woke, but I wasn't able to remember exactly what he looked like; only that he had a humanish form and was a man. I remember that he greeted me warmly though, and immediately began talking about something he wanted me to do for him. I said nothing, peering behind him instead. I could see what was beyond the room; a lake of magma and what looked like the inside of a volcano. Hmm. Lovely view, anyway. The man started to tell me about becoming immortal and about a great city which rested on this special kind of mineral or ore. There were creatures which would eat or destroy this ore, however, and it was putting their civilization in danger. When he finished talking, I said something to the effect of "So those things eat your city walls? Hm, wow that sucks to be you guys" as I was examining the carvings on the wall. I woke up then.
