Dream Prep
This is just a short visualization before bed that can help you have more vivid, fantastical dreams.
A lot of times we make the mistake of spending our last few moments before falling asleep mulling over our daily life, activities, worries, ect. Not only can this carry our stress over into sleep and give us lower quality rest, but it bleeds over into our dreams and we often just dream or have nightmares about what happened in our day.
There are a few things that can help you keep the distractions from eating away at you. First, you can use your dream journal to jot down any worries, things to do, things to remember or things on your mind. That way they won't nag at you, since you can remind yourself that you'll read them when you write your dreams down in the morning anyway, so nothing important will be forgotten.
Another thing that helps me is to tell myself this: the BEST thing I can do for myself and everyone around me is to get a good night's sleep tonight so I can function tomorrow.
Task: try doing this visualization before bed to help you get the thoughts out of your head. Imagine an old, dusty room. Allow all the problems and thoughts to clutter it with cobwebs and dust bunnies. Then sweep all those things out the back door until the room is empty. Now you're ready for lucid dream inducing techniques!
The more nights you can keep this up throughout the workshop, the better. This task is designed to support the main task of the week which is going to be about awareness. It doesn't have to be something that takes more than a couple of minutes, but if you have extra time, the more the better.
