Two tasks - What do dreams feel like?
« on: December 22, 2008, 06:20:06 PM »
When you're training your awareness to become aware of the dreaming state, it's a good idea to tune your mind into what dreams feel like! I believe that everyone who can remember having a dream can tell you that even though dreams might feel realistic, there is always that "dreamy feeling" that separates it from your waking life, even when you were not aware of it during your dream. Natural lucid dreamers in general do just this - whether they realize it or not. To learn you to become more aware of the sensation of the dreaming state of mine, I have set up two tasks. The first one is for everyone, the second one is for anyone who has a lucid dream during the workshop.

Phase one:

First, make sure you have pen and paper easily accessible by your bedside. The next time you wake from a dream, focus on what it felt like to be in that dream. Describe what it felt like in words, and write them down right away. If you're unsure on how do describe it, these questions might help:

What were your senses like? How did your body feel?

As an example, I could write these words down:

Sounds seem flat and might not be coming from a source, I feel a slight connection to everything and everyone around me, sunlight appear whiter than normal, I have no sense of temperature.

Post your results in your workbook.

Phase two:

This is a task for the next time you're lucid. Now, focus on what it feels like to be in this dream. Also, focus on what it feels like to be lucid. Just like in the previous task, come up with words to describe it. Take notes as soon as you wake up!

And don't forget to post your results in your workbook!
