Closing Cermonies...
« on: January 11, 2009, 06:58:03 PM »
First of all, Lumi and I would both like to thank everyone who participated in this workshop. :D

As a last optional assignment, go back to your dream journal and make note if you had any more lucids than usual or if you had more vivid dreams than usual. Try to pinpoint which techniques you think contributed the most to these things, and think about keeping them with you for as long as possible.

After all, this is the scenic route and it may take weeks or months to completely internalize the things you've learned here, so even if you may not have gotten immediate results, we encourage you to stick with it as long as possible.

The most important thing that we believe should be taken from here is simply the idea of awareness. Feeling the hardness of the floor, the itchy sweater you're wearing, enjoying a drink are all things that can bring your mind back to awareness of reality. Practicing this every day will eventually lead you to pause for a moment from time to time, just thoughtlessly aware that you are awake and alive at this moment (or asleep).

Lumi, have anything to add?  :)

I'd certainly like to thank you for all the effort.  The material has been well written and nicely presented.

It all seems so simple, and yet it isn't.  You are living proof that it CAN be done, which in itself is one of the most important things you bring to the table here.  If this is how you did it and do it, then there is hope for the rest of us.

Many skills seem impossible at first, and those who are adept appear to the rest of us to be working magic.  It CAN be done though - with persistence and dedication.  Anybody who has ever learned a new language is familiar with this. . . struggling through rote memorization of the first few words, trying desperately to assemble them into sentences, and the helpless feeling of trying to understand "on the fly".  Yet we humans do learn entire languages and we become fluent in them.  The returns of the work increase at an increasing rate - IF we can just get through the slow and tenuous first steps.  The "secret" to it all is that there IS no secret.  It really does take work.

Consciousness is something we take for granted.  What you are trying to teach us is that we can achieve our lucid dreaming goals by not taking our consciousness for granted.  To some of us, that means breaking habits that have been nearly a half-century in the making.

I believe it can be done, and thank you for showing us the way.
What truly matters is not built of right and wrong; but of grace, and of love.

Thanks for holding the space of the Dream Yoga workshop.  I both enjoyed it and got a lot out of the experiences.

Good Job!

Thank you two very much for putting this on.  I enjoyed it, even though I didn't seem to have the motivation to see it all the way through to the end.

Thanks for the time spent on putting this together. I feel that I got a lot out of the course and will continue to work with the additions to my methods currently in use. Just the fact of coming here before Bed time has helped out and I will commence a journal to continue on as I have done since starting this workshop.

Fantastic work. I do believe meditation helped to give me a couple lucids during the workshop.
I suppose I'm not here anymore. Feel free to message me on Steam. (BUDSTER)

Thanks guys.  Indeed I did have an unusually long and .. umm .. lucid lucid during the workshop.  Lots of interesting ideas came out of this which like you say is more a matter of months than days to take effect.

My workbook was rather minimal but I enjoyed reading the material you both provided.

Cheers

Lumi, have anything to add?  :)

Sure! :D

This was the first time I've co hosted a workshop, and I sure learned a lot, and I truly enjoyed it. Naiya did most of the work on this one, so I'll catch up on the next ones. ;)

I sure hope that those of you participated enjoyed it and feel that you got something out of it. I believe that training your awareness and coming out of the day-to-day "sleepwalking" decreases stress and makes you at least enjoy more of the smaller details of our lives. And as we have mentioned a few times already, it does take more than a month for all this to "sink in" and give you higher awareness, and more lucid dreams on a regular basis. At least you are now a few paces in the right direction.

Thank you Naiya and Luminous!

The material you put together is fascinating. I'm not very good at keeping a workbook, but I enjoyed reading very much. It's great that you did this, because now many MM members can practice these things and encourage each other. From the DJs I read, many members have been quite affected by this.

I'm going to continue using the techniques you've described. When I give them the attention they deserve, they are certainly very effective. That's one reason I'm grateful for this; I can be somewhat lazy with these things, and this workshop provided a lot of encouragement. Thanks again!  :goodjob:

I too, am extremely grateful for this! I've learned quite a bit, as I'm sure everyone else as well!

I'm still trying to work out a good regime for myself. Plus with school now it's gotten hectic again. I do, however, have a much easier time remembering to RC and check for strange occurrences. Now I need to solidify my sleep schedule, 6 hours isn't enough for decent quality dreams.

Thanks again Naiya and Luminous! WOOT!

I didn't get into this as deeply as I'd wanted but it still effected my dreaming in a positive way. I will continue practicing techniques I learned here. Thanks a bunch for this workshop.
