-How many dreams do you remember a week on average?
About eight or ten.

-How many hours of sleep do you get a night on average? You can separate workdays/school days from days off.
Around eight thirty.

-How do you wake up in the morning? (Alarm clock, someone awakens you, or other means)
It's usually with an alarm clock, but since I sleep in a room without curtains, sunlight does the trick.

-Do you consider yourself a light or a heavy sleeper?
I would say I'm in the 'average' category a heavy sleeper.  :content:

My goal is to get my recall to a satisfying level before the holidays. There have been periods during which I would remember four dreams a night and lucid dream three times a week without keeping a dream journal... I was experimenting with Robert Bruce's Energy Work book at the time.

Unfortunately, the place I've lived in did not allow me to pursue those practices. Being in a house full of noisy kids doesn't help when you want to meditate. I've had a few lucid framents last week, though.

Luminous, thank you for giving us the opportunity to work on this. It's nice to meet you all - I've been here for a few months, almost exclusively in lurking mode. :]

Nightly ritual

Here is the list of the things I do before going to bed. I find it helpful to do them in order, as they help me focus on preparing myself to dream. I always set up a similar routine when I want to get back to lucid dreaming.

After the usual shower and teethbrushing, I start with Makko-Ho exercises. Then I focus on my breath for five to ten minutes (until I'm lightly buzzing), and I finish with a short reiki session. During the energy work, I send messages to my subconscious, thanking him for giving me intuitions during the day and telling him to help me remember my dreams. I focus on the physical sensations I experience when I'm connected to him and tell him something like "Hey, thanks for that. I'd appreciate it if you sent me a few lds tonight because I'd like to [goals for the night]." If I don't have anything precise to dream about, I think something along the lines of "anything you would consider beneficial for me at this present time".

I've done this for about a week, and I've already had lucid fragments these past few nights.

Great to hear that that's working for you. :) Autosuggestion can do wonders for your dream recall though it doesn't work for everyone. Keep it up!
