Caradon's WILD/Hypnagogia Journal
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:28:10 AM »
Well I've decided to start this separate thread for my feeble attempts at WILDing. Mainly to help motivate me to keep working at them. I also believe that staying that focused while falling asleep can help induce DILD's. So it should help me in that way as well.

Today's attempts

I begin to hear the Lolly pop song in my head. Then I do this weird thing, and try not to focus solely on the song, but just kind of hear it off to the side. It works, and I suddenly find myself cutting a pineapple, while only half listening to the song. there was something else too, but I can't remember what it was. I had the song on one side of me while working on the pineapple. Then there was something that formed off to my other side. But just then I slide out of it.

Into my nap

I begin to hear a mans voice talking in what sounds like a foreign language. At first it seems very strange to me that my brain is speaking in this other language that I don't know. But then I realize that I've heard people speaking in other languages enough that it's probably not that strange. Probably the same kind of thing that allows us to hear perfect music in our dreams.

I slide out of that, then enter a scene that I barely remember. All I remember is that there was some bald guy talking to me.

Today's attempt
Saturday/August/8/2009

I get several very brief work related Lucid HI images.

I then end up entering a scene without Lucidity. I'm in a bedroom with several beds. there are children sleeping on the beds. There is a window on the wall, and outside the window looking in, is a woman. This is not a living woman. She is a ghost. I can hear her speaking. She wants to enter the room. She is saying something about her needing to help the sleeping children in some way. But she cannot enter the room without my permission, and she is trying to get me to allow her to enter.

Didn't get anything in my nap that I remember. But I got a countable DILD for the trying.

Scary WILD!

I'd take it.
Well It didn't really have a scary feel to it. And I wasn't actually Lucid, so I can't really call it a WILD. But it was an attempt

Thanks miss-maya. It's nice to know that my experiences are able to help others as well.  :)

Today's attempts
Sunday/August/9/2009

I enter a work scene with partial Lucidity. I'm helping with a delivery. (Something I don't normally do.) As I become more fully Lucid, I literally drop what I'm doing and start to walk away. The dream slips away.

I had a little bit of Lucid HI after my second WBTB, but I don't remember what the images were.

Into my nap
Several times I enter a scene Lucid, where I'm opening a door and about to step through. Each time dream slips away before I make it through the door.

Then I'm falling, and I'm hung by a noose around my neck. Not sure if a I wake up real quick here, but next I'm looking up and can see the rope dangling loose above me.

That's all I remember from that. The hanging part wasn't as scary as it sounds.

Monday/August/10/2009

Fist I start to hear somebody whistling. Then I enter a scene without Lucidity. There is a deep canyon with  along rope hanging down into it. Up and out of the canyon climbs, Megatron from the transformers. Near the edge of the canyon is Optimus Prime. He is beaten down into the dirt, and Megatron is standing over him. I don't remember thee exact words that were said, but Megatron is giving Prime a lot of crap about trying to save the human race. It was more complicated than that But I can't remember the details of it.

I come out of that one and enter another scene without Lucidity. there is some young girl show off her real life super powers. She can walk through walls, or any object really as if they were not there. I'm watching her do this for a bit, Then I ask, "That's an amazing power you have. Are you sure this isn't a dream?"  When I ask the question I become fully Lucid and the dream slips away.

Then I enter another scene with full lucidity. There is a man sitting at an office desk. I'm standing right behind him looking over his shoulder. he opens a drawer on the desk and starts to rummage through the contents. It looks like mostly papers and miscellaneous office supplies. I watch for a moment, then it fades away.

I then enter another scene with full Lucidity. I'm at the park preserve and I see a nice looking girl in a white short sleeve shirt, and dark colored shorts. She is walking a dog down the paved trail. I just watch her walking for a moment before the scene fades away.

Do you think rubbing your hands together or spinning to stay in the dream would help the dream not to fade away? or is it hard to control?
Have you tried those methods?

Impressive.  I wish I could get as far as you--even hanging ones.  Don't forget to include tips, if you can think of what helped you.
I don't really have much for tips. I just lay there trying not to think any words at all, then stuff starts to happen. Sometimes I focus more on listening, sometimes I just watch the blackness for visuals, and sometimes I try to stay aware of how my body feels laying there.
Practicing keeping a silent mind while awake helps too. And the most important thing for me, is to try not to drink too much liquids. Because when I'm laying on my back and I start to get very relaxed, I can actually start to feel my bladder filling, little by little. That drives me nuts and ruins any chance I have at WILDing.

Something weird happened to me; I was making progress and it just stopped dead, and hasn't come back.  I keep trying.  This is a cool journal idea.  If I could, I'd make one too.  That makes me realize I haven't even had any HI to post for a long time.

That sucks. Are you still trying it on your back? I know I have to do it that way.

Well I've tried spinning after entering a scene before, that didn't work. I just spun out of it. I've been planning to try rubbing hands though. I don't think I've done that in a WILD yet. A lot of times when I enter a scene Lucid, It's so fragile that as soon as I try to move it slips away. Other times moving seems to help keep me in it longer. There is a little focusing trick I've been working with that I've had some  success with. But I have not really tried it in these most recent ones. A lot of it has to do with how relaxed I am when I enter it too. Because even a very slight sudden surprise of being lucid can ruin it for me. Just after these last few days of working harder at it, it has started getting easier to enter scenes. So hopefully I will start to get some that are a little bit longer.

Today's attempts
Tuesday/August/11/2009

I lay there for a while getting a lot of audio. A lot of different voices saying short random sentences. Then I see this girl sitting on a beach drinking out of a bottle of whiskey. Then I start to hear a group of people singing the happy birthday song.  After that I started getting really uncomfortable laying on my back so I gave it up.

Into my nap

I hear a random voice say."Getting ready to punch the Jedi." Then I end up in this weird scene. I think I had a little bit of Lucidity because at one point I remember looking around and being amazed about where I was.  I was a little boy of a different race. (Can't say of which one exactly.)  I was sitting on the steps of some temple. I lived at this temple, and I was in some kind of training. Some girl comes walking down the steps and sits next to me.(Supposedly my sister.) She is talking to me, but I can't remember what she had said. I wish that could because what ever was said was meaningful to me at the time. Then I start to become more fully Lucid and I'm very startled by the whole situation. And it jolts me awake.

Next, as I lay there, I start to feel that inner expansion that I sometimes get. Within the inner depths, there is a certain point that I can feel. (Not sure of any other way to describe it.) This point starts to form into the shape of a person. And as I watch this shape forming, I begin to fall through darkness. I feel like this person is with me as I fall. Then we are swinging across some wide canyon on a rope. The scene shifts and I'm now falling with an elevator. I'm on the roof outside of the elevator, and falling down the shaft. Then I begin to very clearly hear emergency vehicle sirens. As if they are already on their way to the falling elevator accident. The visual starts to fade, but the sirens continue for a while. I lay there listening to them until I come fully out of it.

After that there was a lot more that I can't remember well enough to describe. I lay there for about an hour entering several different scenes, mostly without Lucidity. And each little dream had some freaky horror movie theme to it. All from different horror movies that I've seen.

See right there is a tip--I usually try to repeat a phrase, or count, or something.  I'll try not to.
Sometimes that can work, but for me it's best not to think any words at all. Then it's like your brain can't stand it, and starts making stuff on it's own.  :chuckle:

Lol, that's some impressive body awareness.

It can be very annoying.

I never have been able to do it on my back.  It's so uncomfortable, I don't know why; I always want to go on my side.

That's one of my biggest obstacles too. It's hard to resist the urge to turn over. Sometimes I can't resist for long.

Today's attempts
Wednesday/August/12/2009

Today wasn't the best day. Last night I was having a hard time clearing my head, So I did a little VILDing. I started visualizing myself drawing on a wall. Almost instantly I'm pulled into the scene, I'm standing in a room drawing lines on a wall. My Lucidity is partial as I notice my brother enter the room behind me. For some reason I don't want him to see what I'm doing.

Into my nap

Well, there wasn't really a nap. I came home pretty pissed off. I've been having to deal with a lot of bullshit people problems lately.

I lay there on my back for probably more than a half an hour. I realize that WILDing at this time is not likely. So I just roll over and try to fall asleep. Still, it's a long time before I can get relaxed at all. I actually manage to slip into this little dream Lucid, where I'm flying over some city scape. I land on the street then wake up.

After that I start to actually fall asleep for real, then my dog starts making noise causing me to wake up. After that any possibility of sleeping was all over with.
