Day 1:

I'm told I do a lot of things backwards  :?. When I try to solve technical problems I often flip them upside down so to speak. My lucid dream style and methods are no different. Our first step today is to try to think a little differently about goal setting and create some relations between goals and dream content. Here goes:

Set-up a small number of conditions centered around several common dream scenarios. For example, let's assume I commonly find myself dreaming and lucid in random outdoor scenarios, and often find myself lucid doing something in my house. Let the dream content drive the goal.

If I'm lucid outside => Try flying superman style

If I find myself lucid at home => Try opening a portal to my favorite beach

Define conditions for at least two, and no more than 3 or 4 common lucid scenarios. Review the goals and scenarios right before going to sleep, preferably at the end of a wake back to bed (WBTB) session. Trying to memorize 4 or more scenarios can become counter productive as this is too much to work with. But you stand a good shot at remembering a few. Then you get lucid, and map the scenario to the goal defined. These sets of goal/scenario inter-relations seems to help me a great deal in remembering and implementing lucid goals.

The only randomness here is which lucid scenario will pop up. We'll discuss ways to eliminate that randomness as the workshop progresses.

Are comments welcome in the threads, or is there somewhere else to discuss?

Oh ... I figured comments and questions would go in the respective thread/daily lesson.

If these tutorials spawn more original conversation, etc ... I think we can start new threads.

There are 6 lessons planned, over the next 6 days.

Exactly!  The thing to keep in mind is organization, when this workshop is finished, it will go into the archive and be a resource for future reference.

Gotchya.

Dr. T now has mod control over this board, so it can be arranged if it gets out of desired organization.

That's a good idea, to be more prepared with a particular goal for a particular scenario.  I shall make a list.

I've found this helps me because you are thinking from both a forward and backward direction. My goal(s) is XYZ. If I find myself in such and such scenario - do goal XYZ. Thinking from both perspectives seem to reinforce things for me and makes it easier to remember my task.

I like this idea. I do tend to want to do too many things at once and end up forgetting everything when I become lucid. I'll be doing this tonight to get to the meeting place. Certain scenarios=challenge ops. Thanks.

Oh, that's clever, way easier than trying adamantly to do one goal that's not compatible with the scenario... I know I've wasted lucids "hunting" for the things needed to do my goals. Thanks~
Back from the dead...let's hope I'll stick to it.
