Day 3:

We've all heard the saying "practice makes perfect". The concept here is to practice or otherwise visualize the lucid task during WBTB. I've successfully used this many times. Give it a shot ...

Some of us tend to find themselves lucid in common places, like their house, office etc ...  Build a goal around the assumption that you will find yourself lucid in that location. During WBTB, practice implementing the goal as if you were in a lucid dream.

For example, let's say I get lucid in my house quite often and desire to open a portal to my favorite beach. Print out a picture of the beach and retreive it during your WBTB session. During WBTB, go to the location where you plan to open the portal. Look at the picture and imagine the location in the picture being on the other side of the portal. Physically or at least mentally play out the scenario of succeeding in the task.

This role playing or practice session should be enough to lock the task into your memory and perhaps help with some dream incubation.

I think this might actually help to make sure you actually stay in your house too.  Maybe that's partly why you often wake up there.

I'll try it tonight, hopefully.

I think once all 6 sessions are posted, you'll see why I have the types of lucids I do as well as reasonable success rates w/ pre-defined tasks. I do put a lot of effort into it. Plus the exercises I do not only seem to help w/ task rememberance but also dream incubation in general. It's sorta a twofer. We'll get there. 3 more to go.

If we don't really have a "common place", can we just visualize where we want to be? I do have one or two places I could use, though.

I would say yes to both points. I think it's important to visualize the scenario, and visualize yourself succeeding in the goal.
