What I currently believe about dreams and what they might mean or represent
To me, dreams represent a way to explore places and things I would never be able to explore in the physical realm, and are a way to feel and experience what other people or animals, whose forms I seem to take on from time to time, are feeling or experiencing.

Dreams are a way to escape the physical realm and its laws and experience things such as floating or flying that are possible in the other dimension.

As vivid and real as many of my dreams are, it is difficult to not believe that they are real and something I am experiencing in something like a parallel universe somewhere, as I seem to have two lives, my daytime life, and my night time life, that often takes on a life all of its own and seems every bit as real as my day time life, if not more real at times.

What I currently reject in terms of dreams and what they might mean or represent.
The only thing I reject is preconceived notions that dreams always represent something or that certain symbols in a person's dream have to represent specific things, as dreams are personal, meaning that no one thing will always mean the same thing in everyone's dream.

Guy - Having His Head Cut Off (DILD - Super Gross)
I'm watching this guy who is about to be executed as he is being led out to this place by his executioners when the guys cell phone rings. The executioner allows the guy to answer his phone and it is the guys son asking him something. The guy answers his son "No, I'm getting ready to have my head cut off", after which this guy in a black outfit starts sawing through the guys neck with a long sharp knife and completely saws his head off and throws it in this nearby trash can. There is blood everywhere. I become lucid as the guys head is being sawed off

Boat - Big Party (WILD)
I'm riding along in this boat while lucid where there is a big party going on with music and people dancing around. I appear to be in a casino as there are all of these gaming tables spread throughout the boat. I get in this line to get something to eat at this cafeteria where there are two cashiers. On the left side, which is the lines I'm in, there is a line of people who appear to be people who spend a lot of money at the casino, and on the right side there is no one in line. Someone tells me that I'm in the wrong line and that I need to be in the other line, which suits me fine since I'll be the first one in that line.

Beach - Walking Toward A Nude Beach (WILD)
I'm on this beach while lucid where there are all of these women walking around in their bikinis. I appear to be naked myself and am trying to find this nude beach. As I continue walking the amount of clothing being worn by the women becomes less and less until most of the women are now at least topless.

Dining Car On A Train - Controlling The Train Using My Imagination (WILD)
I'm someplace like a dining car of a train while lucid where there are all of these people sitting down at these tables getting ready to eat. I'm becoming concerned about the people's safety on the train as many of them are old and several people are standing up. So get everyone to sit down and then control the train using my imagination to go slowly and smooth. Everyone is now thanking me for providing them with such a smooth ride.

The head sawing dream was indeed graphic. I am first picturing a guy who is very depressed and scarred. Not spiteful, or proud or defiant, just scarred. The cell phone call almost strikes me as a way for someone to strengthen his resolve. The sawing scene is very brutal. I immediately imagine the video clip from a few years back where there was a captured US soldier if I recall. Rather than lop off his head in one fell swoop, several men held him down while they sawed his head off with what seemed like a dull but large knife. It seemed to add extra insult, and was unnecessary. I feel like the executioner should have just gotten it over with. It makes me a little angry, the disrespect for human life.

Work - Needing To Mail A Letter (Super Vivid)
I'm in this office where I'm needing to mail a letter for someone. There are all of these mail slots on people's walls with different locations on them with some of them being foreign locations and others being specific locations in the U.S. I'm looking for the specific location where the letter needs to be mailed to and find it down this one row a couple of cubes down. As I'm telling this lady where the mail slot is this other lady tells us that we can put it in any of the mail slots that say City and State on them as they will sort it out and sent it to the right place.

"Control" seems to be the key word here.  I've just read a couple of busy dreams, and this one is quite the opposite for me.  But I don't feel it's calm.  More like tense, or perhaps teetering on the edge of tense and managable.  Wondering whose benefit the control is for - yours or all those frail people?

The decapitation dream seemed very atypical and stands out for that reason.  I wonder, where did that come from?

The decapitation dream seemed more like something I was actually witnessing rather than something that I dreamed up, so may have no interpretation.

This is easy--how can you read a dream about decapitation and not dwell on the decapitation?
However, I'm also seeing this as occurring in a sort of secret place that isn't a normal part of the dreamworld, if that makes sense.  But not so much as a remote, isolated place, as a hidden inner sanctum, or something.  I'm getting the sense of this deep inner room.

Sensations
I get the sensation of the guy wanting this to be over with.  Strangely, as if he doesn't entirely want to avoid it.  A "get it over with" feeling, of raised expectancy.  Agitation.

Emotions
Disconnectedness and denial of what is familiar.

I'm drawn to say
I notice a lot of your dreams are of a similar pleasant nature, but once in a while you get a weird, disturbing one that doesn't fit in at all.  Sort of like aberrations.  Your dreams seem very honest.

Mood
Lovely.    But it still manages to be sort of matter-of-fact, with the guy implying to his son that he's sort of "busy."

Graphic indeed and very brutal. Definitely not spiteful, proud or defiant, and willing to accept what has to be.

Control is right, and definitely teetering on the edge of being tense, yet manageable. Really felt that the control was for the frail peoples benefit.

The detail in your dreams is always incredible, as well as your own comfort and smooth handling of situations.  You always enjoy helping your DC's in big and little ways.

Thanks Moonbeam. The decapitation dream was definitely atypical. leaving me wondering where it came from and making me wonder if I was actually just witnessing something that may have happened sometime.

Excellent analysis mu. The sensation of the guy wanting this to be over seems very accurate. And the guy implying to his son that he's sort of busy...excellent.


My thoughts:
Although the dream was extremely graphic, gory, and unusual, the most unusual part seemed to be when the guy got a call on his cell phone on his way to being executed. What's a guy doing with a cell phone on his way to being executed?

Dream logic!  I've read we need to get over these inconsistencies and try and imagine why we ourselves would have a cell phone on the way to being executed.

Guy - Having His Head Cut Off (DILD - Super Gross)

My Interpretation:
None. As I felt no connection with the guy being executed but was simply watching this like I would watch a movie, I feel more like I was observing something that actually happened at some time rather than my subconscious trying to tell me something. Many of my non-lucid dreams are this way, especially the really vivid ones, as I seem to be living a very real life in my dream world that is every bit as real as my waking life, which makes it hard for me to believe it's only a dream. Sometimes it's a dream, and I can usually distinguish those, but other times it just feels too real to be only a dream.

Leg - Breaking (Super Vivid)
I hit the bottom of my leg on something that hurts and make sit difficult to walk because of the pain. Later when I'm looking at my shin I notice that it is completely broken apart and that the two edges are jagged. I try putting the two pieces back together but am having difficulty getting them to stay together. I decide that the two pieces will grow back together in time since I remember having broken my leg in this spot several times before after which it always grew back together and mended itself, so feel no need to go to the doctor.
