DrT's New Dreamscape Scene Change Technique
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:07:02 AM »
Sometimes the best discoveries are simply stumbled upon. This would be a great example. For me, the whole spin/scene change technique has always been a bust. No help.

Lately, I've noticed that an easy way to change a scene is to fly straight up. When flying up, look far into the horizon, expecting a scene change, but not placing expectation on what you will see precisely. When you see it, fly on over and enjoy.

As to the "why" this works? Maybe it's expectation. Or maybe it's a nice balance between losing sense of the scene you are somewhat decoupling from, and the minds need to fill in the blanks so to speak.

A nice example of this would be my "City in a Canyon" dream in my DJ from 11/7. There are many others. This technique is definately something to try is you can fly well, but have trouble with scene change.

I think I did this when I went to pj's house that one time.  It works because we can fly up and high up in the atmosphere at an unrealistic speed, but our minds have expectations for speed when we fly close to the ground.  You just fly up high enough so that you can see distant places, then you can simply fly down to them.  Faster than horizontal flying.

Flying actually works well for me to. It almost always changes the dream scene. Once I was flying over Orlando, FL and the buildings kept growing taller until they were all slides and ferris wheels. Another time I was in a plane and the whole city morphed into a model city (like a replica) and then it turned into a room.
