This may be a stupid question - but how do you know when you have it memorized? I would say i know how my body feels pretty well, i could visualize what taking a step or running would feel like, but how do you memorize something like this in the sense that you would instantly know if it's not right?

@moonbeam yay trying! Tell me if it helps you.

@KayTea Well, have you ever been sick and felt like everything is too heavy to even get out of bed? That would be a "not right" feeling, or when you are so happy everything feels really light? that is another one, yup. Or when wearing a back-pack, you are heavier than normal. Oh but, don't use backpacks too often, that would render the RC useless, just to get accustomed to more subtle changes of weight.

Pfft, what matters is our internal kid! And I'm sure you are pretty young inside, yup.
Using other body sensations should do it, good luck!
Also, I forgot to add something, another benefit is that the RC also stabilizes the dream naturally "adds".

You know, when you get old  ::), there are often aches and pains of the body, which I am going to use as reminders for this. So every pain or discomfort is a reminder to check the body-state.  I have had to go to a left-handed mouse due to over-use of the right hand, so that should be a frequent reminder too.

Body constant awareness, in addition or instead of mental constant awareness.  Maybe once I get in the habit, it will work better for me--the mental sure hasn't stuck yet.
Hehehe, this was mine for some time. "Do I hurt? No? Must be dreaming!" :chuckle: Unfortunately, it isn't always reliable, but the gravity thing totally is. I stopped using it in favour of nose-pinching, but... I should most definitely reprise it and perhaps combine the two (in my dreams, I never do two reality checks, despite doing like, 10 IWL).
What would you do if you were dreaming right now?

I used back or leg pain. Those two are like constant dull aches, for me...

Cool, I've been using this lately and I think it's been helping my awareness. My lucidity has shot up in the last few days (except last night, was too worried about today's exam). :)

MB has an important observation. When you hit a certain age, eventually you will have something that hurts. I've used lack of back pain as a dream verification RC (my back does not bother me when dreaming). Obviously this notion of pain could be used other ways. I think there is an issue of expectation here. I expect it not to hurt, and hence it could be used as a RC check in that sense.

Per the original idea above, other expectations could be used in other ways.

Great idea! But hope your back gets better.

You dreamed of me.

TESTIMONY WARNING!!! :greenstars: :

I've been at this for a while now and it took a little time to get rolling but I've had 2 of the most stable lucids I've ever had. And they've been in a row, which never happens for me! I'd say try this out for a month and see how you do at the end of it! My awareness is much, much better now!

Yay Hukif!! Good guide, ty! :D  :5s:

I don't understand. What is the check? Making sure gravity still works?
-Oh, no, no. I was just wondering if you could help me find my way.
-Well that depends on where you want to get to.
-Oh, it really doesn't matter, as long as...
-Then it really doesn't matter which way you go.
