Animation etc.
« on: January 04, 2013, 04:05:16 PM »
This is an animation I made based on a series of dreams.
This is a prequel to said dreams.  :content:

That is really quite amazing.  The amount of work that went into that must have been staggering.

A very long time ago, I did stop animation using clay and wire forms.  That was with an 8mm film camera!

That is so cool, bizarre, amazing, freaky, disturbing, and amazing on so many levels!  You have such talent - I don't think I could do that EVEN in my dreams!

Our creativity in dreams is very enhanced indeed, and there's a lot to be said about it. It definitely goes both ways though. Inspired in waking life ?  inspired in dreams. But the greatest asset of dreams in terms of creativity might just be as simple as point of view.

And thank you, I remember it was a long search for music which was just right for it.

I would say creativity comes in many forms. Everyone has the potential to create. And dreaming is just a state of mind. But you are right, the dreamscape is boundless when it comes to that.

A sketch I drew in a dream.

-Untitled-

With three I spraypaint a
white stripe. Two get left behind,
I get away. No one can see me. But,
I cannot remain hidden as I navigate through.
Almost caught I start running up an ascending staircase.
It goes on for a long time and ends up high above the earth.
A person sits here. I sit down too in the opposite direction and start
editing drawings in this book. Scribble here scribble there but it's all wrong.
Maybe upside down the person says now, looking with me over my shoulder.
Yes, that might work. I draw the sun upside down. I close my book and see
her jumping onto a disintegrating platform. As I follow it breaks and we fall to the earth.
We land on continents, patches floating on the water's surface.
We roll over and look up.

Cool.  So you drew it in the dream, then the same thing IRL?

I did, it was really nice to have a spontaneous drawing session in a dream.
So I added this page to my sketchbook afterwards irl.

Nice! The sketchiness of the art makes it seem alive and moving, sort of like the art is falling into or emerging from the words.
