Reading that other thread and I figured I'd turn it around.  What about the stuff we never could have accomplished, or even conceived of with our conscious minds. It could be a task that went differently than what you thought, or something that just happened in a lucid, or whatever.

I like this question a lot, and will probably have more of an answer after thinking about it for a bit.

Lucid dreaming, in general, has impacted my life in a lot of big ways.  Not the least among them is being involved with this circle of most extraordinary people, some of whom have become very dear "real life" friends.

But that's not the question.  More to the point, a couple of specific lucid dreams and "coincidences" have convinced me that there really may be something to shared dreaming.  With that door being opened in a very personal way, I have become much more open to (and interested in) OBE as a different (but not necessarily distinct) experience from lucid dreaming.  We often seem to be experiencing two different things, and the implications of that fascinate me.

I remain convinced that lucid dreaming may be the gateway to objectively proving that more is going on in our reality than effects and artifacts of physical processes.
What truly matters is not built of right and wrong; but of grace, and of love.

This is an excellent question! My brain hates me so my LDs have done many strange things.

I disintegrated a few times. My body came apart molecule by molecule and immersed into the dream so that I was no longer a single entity. The sensation is entirely frightening and freaky because with it came the the realization that I was losing self. It is impossible to describe such a feeling. It's always made me wonder, if we can manufacture these odd sensations in dreams, in our physical mind, does that mean there exists the possibility of experiencing or replicating these indescribable feelings in waking life?

To me, non-lucids have done much more to me than lucid dreams. But since you were asking for lucid dreams, there was one where I tried to see if the DC was "real" and his face got disfigured.
Another one was when I was trying to find out something, and failed. This time, it was my reflection on the mirror who got disfigured.

What changed with those dreams? To feel the energy, the power of your will influencing your surroundings, even if only dream scenarios, what a sensation! Neither good nor bad, but it was a very strong feeling of power, conscience and also responsibility.

some responses are deeper than I intended the question to be. I love it!

I'll have to think about things on that level as well...

No one amazing event stands out for me, a few things come to mind.

1 - a kind of vapor comes out of the back of an upright piano, forms into a very sentient, floating woman who comments on the dream, then before floating back into the piano I say, "wait, are you always in the piano?"  - "no" and she dissapates

2 - I start singing a song aloud, as I had planned when I am joined in unison by a young girl I come to recognize as my daughter (no daughter IWL), we bond, draw some pictures, live together for a few days
(the song was "bike" by pink floyd)

My answer would be similar to MB's...

I am much less afraid of life...  I KNOW there is more out there, and have gotten over many fears because of that knowledge. :hippy:

We had a lucid a while back where we were on our hands and knees on the floor doing this back exercise which consists of pushing our leg back and up while stretching it out, an exercise we hadn't done for a long time, and had forgotten about. While doing the exercise there was on old girlfriend from about 40 years ago standing behind us giving us pointers on how to do the exercise. As it turned out, this is exactly the exercise we needed to do for our back, which had been bothering us on and off for some time, so has become a regular part of our daily exercises, which has eliminated all of our back pains. As for the girlfriend from about 40 years ago, we're thinking that maybe she had just passed to the other side and was making her rounds, helping some of her old friends out before going to the other side for good.

At the moment, I would have to say it was my "first" LD - first in that it was the first one last fall...
I purposely wanted to "make my mark", somewhere, so I crawled on the moon, putting my hand prints on it to "prove" I was there.
Was a very profound moment for me :content:

Cool thing to ponder over Greg lousy!

Like the responses above me, a lot of what lucid dreaming has done for myself is to open my mind and release fear. I had used to have nightmares often. Once I became lucid, I was able to confront fears head on and they subsided.
My mind (dreaming mind) never ceases to amaze me.

I found myself lucid in a dream where, unannounced a double of myself came crashing through the roof. With a very negative aura in the room, I began to fight myself. After going punch for punch I realized it was useless.
.....later realizing that the dream had meant far more to me. I began to not second guess myself and go with my gut. Believe in myself. Not fight myself!
This attitude was later seen by some friends as arrogance. To them all they had ever known before was a quiet, shy and timid person who was unsure of themselves. Now I'm just quiet.  :)

Going to the moon. Cool idea and a lot safer than being an astronaut! Maybe when google moon comes out, we will see that hand print Shellidf!

What do you do walking around in the woods after dark Moonbeam?  :o
I'll see it when I believe it.

Apart from a lot of things already mentioned, LDing has made me more conscious IWL. The same question can be asked to any person 'are you awake?' But like really awake? and aware of everything. It's good to sometimes just stop for a moment take in everything around you and go through life in a lucid way.

A strange thing for me inside a dream was that a DC tried telling me that there are consequences to what i do in a dream while im lucid, like, that it can have an effect on lucids later on, Although i'm very sceptical i reccon it's an interesting thought.
Peace

Caused such an uncontainable surge of joy that the only possible way to express it was to break out into song.
