Talking Tree
« on: November 28, 2013, 03:19:32 AM »
So I had an LD a couple weeks ago and it has seemed to uncovered some things. I am not necessarily looking for an interpretation. Any thoughts about the dream would be welcome. :)

There is a small bit of context needed first before I get to the dream. The dream involves my most common dream sign(a Washington state ferries ferry boat) and the first occurrence that I can recall in which a dc exclusive to my dreams has appeared more than once. Typically the only dcs that appear multiple times are either friends or family. The first dc I met in a lucid a couple months back when I asked him where I belong. He pointed at my heart. The other dc I met in a lucid even before the other. I was in a forest, and I saw her walking along with a smile. She did not speak, but I told her about an inspiration I had received while she continued to smile. That about does it for context, and here is the dream.

------------------------------

The dream begins with me on the ferry coming into Seattle. Instead of the normal docks, we are heading to the south into the harbor. I see the cranes and motionless freighters. Then I see a ferry dock in the middle of the harbor. This seems strange. The ferry is going too fast to dock and when we hit the dock, we blast right through. On the other side, the ferry's speed increases. We go faster and faster until we run aground. The ferry begins flipping and breaking apart. Some part of me remembers this happening before and I realize I am dreaming.

Jumping clear of the wrecking ferry boat, I find myself near a freeway on ramp. I walk down a small hill and ask an Asian man with a Hawaiian shirt, "where is my dream guide"? Without saying a word, he disappears, then reappears as a slab of dark, fine wood with a smiling face painted in thick gregarious styling. Confused, I see the elderly lady with white hair and I say to her "where is my dream guide"? She smiles, yet says nothing as she passes. In desperation, I yell to the sky repeatedly "where is my dream guide?!!?" My eyes come back down in the opposite direction I was facing to a grove of three large trees. Two are lighter colored, like thick Alders. The third is a massive, incredibly thick, and a deep dark brown hue. A mouth and two eye holes form on the huge trunk. They stretch and move as the tree becomes partly human. I ask "what are you"? It says in impossibly low, booming voice as the mouth stretches out to the sides, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOD". The vibrations of the voice are calming, yet solid and strong. I say "are you my dream guide"? The tree answers affirmatively saying "yes". I tell the tree that I do not believe it. The tree reprimands me but I persist saying that I do not believe. The tree says nothing then, instead its enter form stretches out, over, and on top of me, pinning me to the ground. I become afraid that the tree will hurt me, so I attempt to vaporize it, which does not work. Then I attempt to make it dissipate by using expectation which also does not work. Finally, I release my fear, letting go, and the tree in turn releases me. Then I wake up.

I should also note that my dream goal was to find my dream guide if that wasn't already apparent. It seems I have been ignoring some of the guides that got me this far in the first place. That is what I have come away with so far, but I want to know what you all think.
Thanks! :)

  This thread belongs here http://mortalmist.com/forum/index.php/board,4.0.html

You may not have a dream guide. If you had one they likely would have already contacted you in your normal dreams.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Sry if the thread is in the wrong spot. I just wanted to get some feedback on a specific dream. I might start a DJ in a few weeks though.

I have a DG who only shows up in lucids.  Of course he's not much of a guide and not very reliable, so he's not a good example of one.

A talking tree is cool!  I was like, whoa, I can totally imagine that voice....then I realized I was thinking of an ent lol.

I want to find one.  :)

Yes an ent! Those are awesome :)

This tree was much louder and I could feel the vibrations through my body. It was amazing. :)

There is one thing that jumps out at me, for what it is worth. It is very common in Native American culture for a Shaman who is well practiced at OOBE to find a tree, and enter a hole at the base of the tree. This path can often lead to a place or revelation that is quite profound. In your making a conscious effort to find a dream guide, I find it interesting that the tree arrived and effectively surrounded you, which is not far off from what I described previous.

Very awesome dream :) I've found my dream guide only once in a lucid and will never forget the things she taught me.

Anyways I think the tree did a very good job of proving that it was in fact your dream guide :) when you showed disbelief the tree imparted a lesson to you, which is the one thing tree guides are supposed to do. The tree taught you not to fear pain and how to handle fear in dreams, not by direct confrontation but by growing through it. That is a precious dream I would think, thanks for sharing :)
