Dreaming With Jeff
« on: February 05, 2015, 07:07:24 AM »
I have yet to sleep. It's 6am. About 5 am I hopped on the computer to look for relaxing sleeping music to listen to. What I found was the Jeff Bridges Sleeping Tapes. I am currently listening to them online. All I can say is...

 :eek2:

From an online article:
The Oscar-winning actor has simply released an album designed for you to play while you snooze. Well, more precisely, it is actually meant to send you to sleep, his deep, rich mutterings the vehicle that will deliver you to the land of nod. Sleeping Tapes comprises 15 tracks of soothing sounds, strange noises and idle ponderings. Available at the website Dreaming with Jeff, listeners can either stream it for free or download it by paying what they see fit, with all proceeds going to the No Kid Hungry organisation.
You can listen to it for free online here: http://www.dreamingwithjeff.com/#music-section

It's very weird, sporadically creepy, sometimes sorta hypnotic, and did I mention weird?
But I can't stop listening.

Somehow, I actually fell alseep listening to that craziness. I didn't think I would sleep because I was snickering through most of it. :chuckle:
Last thing I remember is a creepy automated Jeff Bridges voice. Then I jolted awake when it started over again with the laughing kids.
Maybe he's actually got something there. Or maybe I'm now a mind controlled zombie which Jeff Bridges will use to conquer the world at the mere mention of one trigger word.

We know you're not into supplements Vex, but if you ever decide to try something, you might try melatonin. It's very inexpensive, and is more of a sleep aid than anything, although it can lead to some really vivid dreams since melatonin converts into serotonin.
Taking a simple 3mg melatonin pill about an hour before going to bed puts iadr to sleep about 5 minutes after he crawls into bed. When we experimented with it in the past, by increasing it to 6mg a night, which we've been meaning to do again, the dreams became even more vivid.

I read your journal. How do your dreams become more vivid?
I'll see it when I believe it.

Thanks iadr. I've used melatonin before and liked it. It was scary how fast it put me to sleep the first time I used it. I'm kind of iffy about using it lately because when I went to a sleep lab they told me I have mild sleep apnea which is part of the reason why I wake so much through the night. I don't want to take anything that might make it harder to wake during a potential sleep apnea episode. I'm probably being over paranoid about it but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I slept really well when I was jogging several times a week. I can't wait for it to warm up so I can start jogging again.
So far this year I've been sleeping pretty decently in stretches. It's just some nights I will not be sleepy at all. Thankfully those nights aren't as often as they were a couple years ago.
