I already got a sort of mantra I sometimes use while falling asleep.
Here's it translated into English:

The next thing I see, I see in a dream
The next thing I hear, I hear in a dream
The next thing I feel, I feel in a dream
The next thing I know, is I am in a dream

My favorite RC: plug your nose and breathe

My focus on RCs for tomorrow: people!

Going to RC when I speak to (or about!) friends or family.

Next themes:
- clothes (e.g. pick a certain color and see if people are wearing anything in that color)
- animals (not the horses ;)

Not a lot of success on the family member or friend RCs.
I didn't talk about them too often and when I did, I mostly forgot to RC.

I got some good situations to RC on (seeing weird cars, unfamiliar plants, being at great height (climbing trees) etc)

Tomorrow will be the 'check for red clothes' day. And tonight I'll try to focus on clothes my DCs are wearing. I wonder if my focus on clothes increases after a whole day of clothes-RCing

As you mentioned: the problem with routines is that they won't get you lucid :( But you do need something that is linked to reality checking

It's the new and weird things that have more chance of showing up in a dream (now link them to lucid dreaming, that's a second challenge)

Today I didn't do much RCs on yellow (change color every day) but I had a freakingly scary moment when my friend horse tried to do a sumersault over a metal chain (he got scared, ran away, fell over the chain, landed on his head and struggled to get back up). He broke 2 front teeth, bleeded heavily and was in shock. So I'm afraid some of that will get back in my dream tonight...

Pfew, no dreams about the falling horse yet, I'm glad about that.

New reality check: bite the inside of my cheek. It's discrete and can be performed in all situations (pinching your nose can be hard when you have your hands full ;) )

New situations to check on: passing through doors (just for 1 day, seeing how that works out)

Middle of the night technique:

Been doing this for about a month now, alarm after 4,5 and 6 hours of sleep. Usually, I wake up, re-set the alarm, put on a song on my iPod and fall back asleep. Tonight, I'll try to actually get up, visit MM for a short while and use one of the lucid induction mp3-series.

Oh, I put them on at 1/3rd of the volume, especially the brainwave songs. They need to be pretty loud to get the right amount of brainwaves going :P And I hardly ever wake up from music, so the volume is not a problem for me.

Maybe you can try a recording program (like Cool Edit) and re-record them on half the volume... (pm for details ;) )
