Long Hike
Walked around on some dirt roads and noticed that there were a lot of people walking through woods on a hill. I wanted to walk in the woods too. I could have climbed over a fence and into the trees but wanted to know where the entry way was. Found it, it was a knocked over tree. I was about to climb the tree into the woods but realized I wasn't wearing shoes. I walked further down the road and found a house where I had a pair of shoes stashed. THe shoes were both right sides and I couldn't understand how I'd been wearing them that way all along. I squeezed my feet into the shoes and went back into the woods with some family members for a nice long hike. Reminded me of an Island I hiked on this past summer.

A dream lingered on the fringes of my recall today but never came back to me.

Crumbling Cliff
Hiked along a cliff edge with my brother. We were always dangerously close to the edge but it didn't seem to care. What got on my nerves is there was a spot where people apparently all stopped to urinate. It was all dead plants and dying trees. I told my brother if he pissed there he was on his own from here on out. He did, so I left him, went back the way we came. I then wondered why I was hiking with him anyway, not like we're friends or anything.
-I don't get along with my brother, he's a sadistic, narcissistic, woman hating prick of a scum bag, but I don't hate him. I just don't care to have anything to do with him. Apparently he hates me, thinks I ruined his life just because I (as well as others) encouraged his spouse to leave his abusive ass. May be representing an ugly part of myself that still needs recognizing and releasing?

River Rapid City
I have a feeling this one is attached to the above dream somehow. Was in a very run down city and a river with monster rapids ran through it. All along the river edge, people were jumping off of the cliffs into the rapids to try swim to the other side. Most didn't make it. One woman came doggie paddling through the rapid. She sang a song about defying god by having 2 hearts, then she sank under the waves to not be seen again. I was in the river, suddenly. Don't remember jumping in. I swam hard to a calm section and searched for the 2-hearted lady.
-Relates to me jumping in the deep end to help people at work? which I've been doing a lot of lately

And...  fragmented Lucid

The Tower
I toured Niagara Falls with some older ladies. At the top of the skylon tower was a rollercoaster type ride that took you all the way to the bottom. The older ladies wanted to go on it but once they got up there they changed their mind. Instead they sat around telling stories about their youth.

The Cube & Creep Guy
Was in a buillding that was cube shaped. Many little apartments, not much more than a bed and dresser inside. We had to leave our rooms and sit in a large square formation around a fire where some guy sang songs that I didn't understand. I was between the singer from Radio Head and some other band. I was very attracted to the Radio Head guy for some unfathomable reason. I didn't speak to him. Later, in my room, the guy showed up. We sat on the bed together talking about our 'former' lives. As he discussed his lives I realized then that we had known each other for ages and had just found each other again. He asked if he could lay with me, for old time's sake. We laid on the bed for a while, just talking about everything. He left. Later in the dream I ran into him again and he told me he was pregnant with my child. I was shocked but happy. We plotted to escape the cube, which we realized was a cult, and raise our child together.

Car Works
I had to do work but had no wifi. I drove around until I found some, which was in an abandoned parking lot. Afterward I had to back out of the parking lot and down the road because my car couldn't go forward.

(late recall)
Basement Man
I think this was in the first childhood home I remember. We had to go into the basement but there was a lot of noise down there. I decided to go down there and just throw myself into the middle of the chaos just but the noise stopped. Halfway down the stairs lighst started shining up at me, like many small flashlights. I retreated. When I found a flashlight I went down to find an old guy laying on the floor. I helped him back upstairs and he left. The haunted basement was not haunted anymore.

Haven't posted because I've been trying a different method with recording dreams. I still record nightly but put all the dreams for one week into a single post which I can easily skim through at the end of the week.

The posts are only a couple of sentences long, with a title, trying out the dream recall method I'd heard on a podcast a year or two ago. Theory is that you don't have to recall an entire dream to boost recall, just title it and jot down a few sentences, one sentence if possible.

Using this, and grouping a weeks worth of dreams together, I'm hoping it'll be easier for me to go through my journal and find themes or issues each week, missed reality check points, etc. Also, it'll free up my mornings quite a bit and give me more time to focus on writing out full lucid dreams when they happen.

Last week:

12th – No recall but will have tomorrow.

13th – Crumbling Cliffs: Hiked with my brother along crumbling cliffs. He chose to kill the environment by pissing in it. I turned back, left him on his own.

Rapid River City: People drowned trying to swim a raging river. A lady floated by singing of defying god with her two hearts before she sank below the waves.

14th – Coaster Tower: Some older ladies wanted to ride the Skylon rollercoaster from top to bottom but changed their minds and sat in a park reminiscing.

The Cube Cult: In a cult in a cube building, Thom Yorke and I talked of shared past lives. Later he was pregnant with my child though we never touched.

Car Works: Had online work but no wifi. Drove around, found some in a parking lot. After, had to drive backward because my car had no forward.

Basement Man: Went to investigate basement noise. I found an old uncle on the floor and helped him upstairs. He left, the basement wasn’t haunted anymore.

15th – Plane Games: Piloted a plane through the windmill scene of Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz. Realized I’d be shot down soon and woke. The song was on the radio.

16th – Figment of me walking on a path along water

17th – Bad Magic: A magician made K disappear. He wouldn’t bring her back. I tried calling cops, phone wouldn’t work. K reappeared, perfectly fine.

18th – Credit Rally: Joined a march with the Credit First Nation. Wished we’d had our flags. Took lots of photos and video of the event.

Bent Brother: My brother went on a crazy rampage in town. Showdown happened at the funeral home. He turned himself in to police.

Sometimes it's all you really need. A summary or notes. Especially if you don't have a lot of time to write. I actually more often look through my notebook, at my notes, to remind me of recent dreams during the last week or so than at my actual journal.

I kind of go through phases where I really enjoy writing out in detail, and sometimes I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. Depends on a combination of my  mood, and how important the particular dream is to me. It can be kind of relaxing to get lost in the details of the dream as I try to describe it.

A lot of times lately my dreams have been difficult to describe in moment to moment sequence, all over the place.

Not sure if I'm liking this 'shorthand' dream journaling. It saves loads of time but doesn't feel so satisfying. I will keep it up for another month and see if my recall kicks up. This week's recall has been pretty horrible

This morning, Feb 4th:
Older than Tom Brady
I called into a radio station and played the game "Older than Tom Brady" where they say some random object and ask, "Is it older than Tom Brady. If you guess 5 times correctly you win a prize. I answered all of the questions wrong.

Wonder if an actual radio game seeped into my dreams and I was playing it while sleeping. I did have the radio on all night.
