What Drug Were THEY On When...

So I watched fully for the first time, "Yellow Submarine" last night, fully sober, no alcohol.

I thought I'd open this up, as I am sure whoever (and their names WERE in the credits) wrote the screen play AND did the graphics for it WERE on something rather profound.  That said, I did enjoy the movie!

To your 1st Q Shelli. I'm going to go WAY out n a limb and throw out ... LSD. That would be my guess.

Ever drop acid? If you have an experience, juxtapose it to anything in that period of the Beatles creative phase.

That treadmill bike is about the most ridiculous thing we've ever seen. Why mess with lugging something like that around, like the guy taking it on the bus with him, when you can just jog or walk where you're going much easier.

I read this book the other day about people who can realize there dreaming, and actually wake up in there dreams, it was called ' the crazy life of a dreamer'.  I thought ,what was he on when he wrote that book,  ha.  Ha.  Ha ,,, a dream tablet?   now were can i find one of them? Hmm? Zzzzzzzzzz

No, I've never dropped acid, DrT.  And I'm not into any drugs, whatsoever! ;)  I CANNOT imagine any type of trip at all...

Defiantly psychedelics were the driving force behind many of the creative endeavors at that time.

I've always thought to myself, can they truly take FULL credit for artistic brilliance if a drug inter veins with your thought processes.
One could say that it's they're thoughts, just brought out by taking acid. However, where and what would they be without the drug?

Probably like me without coffee in the morning.....worthless.

I totally agree, but if you take into consideration the effect and change that psychedelics have when your on them, one would certainly not be thinking in the same state of mind had they been sober.  It could enhance their talent as it is already there. If that is the case, it would be similar to enhancement drugs that are so often frowned upon.

I watched Yellow Submarine last weekend with a friend. She freaked out and couldn't watch anything past the fish with human arms swimming through the scene.  :chuckle:
I liked it. I will watch it again when I'm very tired and try to have a Yellow Submarine Induced Lucid Dream.
