After you have turned out the lights and are relaxing for sleep, repeat your mantra for 5-10 minutes or better yet until you relax to the point you lose concentration.

Everyone now please compose a mantra and place it in your workbook.


My mantra:

I am dreaming.. this is all a dream..
If I am anywhere other than my bedroom.. I am dreaming.
If I see my mom.. I am dreaming.
If I see my dad.. I am dreaming.
If I see my sister Bxxxxx.. I am dreaming.
If I see my sister Exx.. I am dreaming.
If I see my dogs anywhere other than home.. I am dreaming.
If I am lost or things don't work as they should.. I am dreaming.
I am dreaming.. this is all a dream..

I will easily remember the details of my dreams.
I will recall their beginning, what happens and their ending.

I thought about AspiR last night before doing my mantra and also afterwards.  ;)

My Reality check: To plug my nose and try to breathe
When: Every time I passed though a door or see/hear/feel/smell something unusual
How many times: ?

I thought about Raklet and sent positive energy his way and I did my mantra a few times before I fell asleep last night.

I did manage to have a lucid dream (see my dream journal).

I am HORRIBLE.. repeat HORRIBLE at doing my reality checks during the day!  It's a good thing that I WILD.. cuz I will never DILD at this rate! :-[

I thought about Snowy Egypt and sent positive energy her way and I did my mantra a few times before I fell asleep last night.

I didn't have a lucid dream tho I had two very vivid dreams (see my dream journal).

For the life of me I couldn't remember who I was supposed to be sending positive energy out to last night!  :-\  Has that worked for anyone?  ???

I added the following to my mantra last night and it seemed to help:

I will easily remember the details of my dreams.
I will recall their beginning, what happens and their ending.

Change your reality check:

My new reality check will be trying to lift off of the ground.

Middle of the night induction:

I try to do my mantra whenever I wake up and I also try "halfheartedly" to WILD.  I say halfheartedly as I have to get up in the morning and I'm afraid any true WILD attempts will cut into my getting the sleep that I need.

I'm not sure. 

Have they helped me to recognize my dreamsigns and become lucid.. NO!!!  :(

Have they helped me recall my dreams a little better.. possibly.  :)

It's really too soon for me to tell yet.  :-\

Do you think it would work better to have the same mantra for a long time ? like " brainwashing" your mind to be super aware of the intention ?

Maybe if we change mantras too often the brain will not take it as serious ?

Good questions!

However, sometimes I think that if we don't change things every now and then our minds will simply take what we're saying for granted and dismiss it/stop paying attention.  :P

i tried hypnosis a while back to improve my recall and increce the frequency of my LD's... it helped with recall somewhat.  i dont think i got down deep enough for the hypnotist to really drill it into my subconsious.  she does offer to record your sessions and sell you the recording for home use... i should go back and do that.

josh, years ago I went to a hypnotherapist (for stress) and had her throw in a couple of statements about becomining aware that I was dreaming.. but I didn't notice anything dramatic with respect to the frequency of my LDs. :P

Well, this morning was strange.  I did my mantra last night as I fell asleep and I woke up around 3:45 am.  I repeated my mantra a few more times and proceeded to have dreams involving not only my mom but my sister Bxxxxx and my dogs and NOT ONCE did I realize that I was dreaming!!!  >:(

I have VERY VERY definate dreamsigns.. my parents, sisters and dogs (as they are present in some way in almost all of my dreams) but I have YET to become aware that I was dreaming (even when I remind myself to be on the lookout for them)!  :'(

Last night, I decided to take 4 mg of galantamine when I first went to bed at night (ala Moonbeam).  I went to bed at midnight and did my mantra a few times, let my mind wander a bit and then directed it back to my mantra.

I changed my mantra to:

I am dreaming.. this is all a dream.
If I am somewhere other than my bedroom.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am with my mother.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am with my father.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am with my sister E**.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am with my sister B*****.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am with my dogs somewhere other than my home.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.
If I am lost or if things don't work as they should.. do a reality check to confirm I'm dreaming.

I will easily remember all the details of my dreams..
the way they start, the way they end and everything in between.


I repeat the last two lines numerous times almost as a chant.

After a bit, I begin to feel the effects of the galantamine.  A definite shift in consciousness.. a different type of "awareness".. it's very hard to put into words.  But I didn't go into a lucid dream.. I went instead into a very vivid 'non'-lucid dream and later had one of my very rare DILDS. :love:
