Bert's Dream Journal
« on: April 18, 2011, 10:19:51 AM »
4/18

As I mentioned to PJ and several others, dreaming has hit a standstill lately. The past few nights however, I've had fragments and lucid dreams. I usually either have complete recall or none at all, but I might as well write what little is sticking.

Lucid:
I'm in my usual void of space that occurs when I'm lucid but not dreaming yet. I realize I could be dreaming, and I'm suddenly at the base of a mountain. There's a lot of sand, and wind blowing. I look up towards the summit and there is a plateau or shelf I find appealing. Since my LD has been VERY slow lately, I decide to take it easy, and just fly to the plateau, and meditate. Despite the winds knocking me around, I make it up there and look out onto the scenery. It's beautiful, I'm really high up, and the air just smells so fresh, with a slight feel/taste of humidity.

Cat wakes me up SEVERAL times, either running on my stomach, jumping onto the window, climbing my desk and falling like a clumsy kitty.

WBTB
I decide to purposefully attempt to wake and go back to LD. I fall asleep, and am right back to the plateau. However, this time there are other people there. I do not recognize them, nor do I bother them. I simply let them meditate next to me as they are not bothering me.

Cat insists on waking me up constantly. At this point I'm somewhat annoyed.

Back to the plateau
I return to the plateau for the third time now. Now there are even more people there, but there seems to be a commotion now. I decide this is too much drama for my current state of mind. I have a FA and am just laying in bed talking to my girlffriend about the dream I just had. I then wake up to my alarm.

The Lucid part sounded really pleasant. Nice to be able to get something like that during a bad dreaming phase.

Hey, don't be put off.  Part of the DJ thing is the discipline.  Some of us always put an entry in each day, including for "No recall" if necessary.  And there's a few smileys that suggest precisely that!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll continue to put my dreams in my DJ.

Yes, what Bu said.  Sometimes even a fragment can generate some discussion, and talking about dreams is really helpful; for me anyway.

You should RC when your cat wakes you up.  It sounds like she does it so often that you may dream about it.

Hmm, good call. Duly noted.

No recall..I know I dreamt something and was lucid very briefly, but I don't remember enough to discuss it.

Attempted WILD Meditated and focused on my new dream goal scenery. I lay down to attempt a wild. I remember the usual vibrations, colorful auras, then suddenly I'm falling down what feels like a water slide or tunnel. That's pretty much all I remember, next thing I know, I wake up.

No recall. :(

Funny, just been reading about a water slide in the Minecraft thread.

No recall. However, I had a very interesting experience IWL. I ended up finding an old friend online, whom I hadn't seen in 5 or so years. We decided to hang out, and something in my gut told me to ask his little brother if he knew about lucid dreaming. Turns out, the neighborhood kids had been talking about it, and wanting to meet someone who had experienced it. Next thing I know, they were so enthralled, as I was, in the conversation regarding LD. I suggested they join MM. It's just interesting to me. My gut told me something, and I followed it, and the resulting situation was a 3 hour conversation. It turns out the two young men I spoke to have had numerous LD instances. No particular point to this, other that it makes me smile when I get to talk to others about this. It's incredible how the law of attraction works.

When you say "gut" do you mean you felt it or sensed it in your gut, like your gut was a radar receiver? Whatever, these experiences are uncanny, and probably give credence to how our dreams might predict life events.

Just a feeling, wouldn't know how to explain it. Intuition I suppose? "Gut" feeling is a figure of speech. It's not actually in your gut. :)

4/23 - 4/24

Seems the dry spell is nearly over...recall and lucidity is getting back to normal.
I'm currently attempting a dream goal that I spoke to PJ about, which involves dreamers here. So here goes my night last night.

Fragment: Bit and pieces of me having long hair like I used to. Random sexual encounters in the dream. but next comes the lucid part:

Lucid:I become lucid, and since lucidity has been slow lately, I try to concentrate on my thoughts. I'm suddenly sitting in front of the computer, on MM discussing dreams, and as I realize this, I remember my latest dream goal.

I know it is somewhat large, but I've been concentrating on uniting dreamers, and shared dreaming. As I begin to gain more memory and control, I put myself into a calm state. I'm in a beach now, it's somewhat cloudy but still a nice day. I try to formulate my words, but for some reason, they do not come out right. I'm mumbling. So I just think what I want to say. I think strongly, "I'm calling to all those able in the world to join me in my dreams. All those in mortal mist who can hear this, you are welcome."

Next thing I know, the beach I'm sitting on begins to get windy. I realize I am using a lot of power in doing this, and I try my best to hold the dream together. Suddenly the water up ahead, perhaps 100-200 yards away, begins to develop a wave beyond my imagination. The wave grows larger and larger, till it's towering above me as it approaches the shoreline. My last thoughts were that the wave would surely crush what little stability I have. Right as the wave is falling down on me, I wake up right before it crashes.

I attempted WBTB, it worked, but my  recall is lousy at this point. I became lucid, but remember very little.

4/25 - 4/26

GREAT night of lucid dreaming.

I've recently gone back to an old technique I used to use years ago. It used to work extremely well, and I don't know why I stopped, but it's working extremely well again.

I guess I'd call the technique the "rope climbing method." I meditate briefly before bed to clear my mind. I then lay down and begin to imagine myself climbing a rope in the first person. I imagine the rope in front of me, and I mentally view one arm grabbing the rope, then the other, so on and so forth. It helps me maintain focus and go right into LD.

Lucid: I'm in a house I don't recognize. I immediately RC, and find I'm dreaming. For some reason, an ex g/f from over 5 years ago is there, along with a friend of my current g/f. Apparently they both want to "be with me." I'm sitting down and they are coming on to me like drunk girls, I laugh as I know I'm dreaming, and if my g/f saw this, she'd freak. Right as I say this, I get a FA. I'm now laying next to my g/f in bed, and she's looking at me all upset. I innocently ask her what's wrong, and she tells me she heard me talking in my sleep, and she doesn't trust her friend that was coming on to me. I spot a cup on the nightstand that does not belong to me. I do another RC, and sure enough, dreaming. I say bye to her, and I'm suddenly in an airport, past security.

This whole portion of the LD was literally hours of me just looking around, and attempting several dream goals. I attempted to call on dreamers again as I previously did. I specifically called to pj, but noone shows up. There are many people in the airport, but noone seems to take any special interest in me, I like this because I want to concentrate on the LD. I decide to go out to pre-security to find something to drink (I woke up super dehydrated, which would explain why I wanted water.) As I walk back through security with my bottle of water, they try to hassle me. I laughed at them hysterically as they tell me it's for my safety. I tell them, "I'm quite safe here, thank you very much..There aren't any terrorist in my dreams." I decide to simply fly over all the people being herded through the TSA checkpoint  and say bye to the gentlemen there.

I'm back by the gates now, and I decide to work on some telekinesis for a little. I'm starting to get bored, and at this point it seems like I've been there a few hours, so I decide to attempt to create a portal back to my room. I never thought of doing this until I read it on a thread on MM. I use my index fingers to draw a circle I can walk into that will transport me to my room. I walk through and I'm still in the airport, it's like I'm jumping through hoops. I laugh at this because of the irony. I think to myself, there must be more I can do. The next bit gets hazy..

Fragment: I'm suddenly talking to someone. I can't remember what we spoke about, how they look, or any real details, but I know it's important. I'm being shown something. I somehow see another cup. I then think to myself that cups would make good RC items. I become lucid, and suddenly everything around me disappears. I'm in the void of space, and I suddenly wake up, about 15 minutes before my alarm was supposed to.
